   Mannnnyyyyyy ads !. Some good movies but the ads are absolutely ridiculous. 38 mins into a 2 hour movie & there has been 5 2 minute ads 😑

   Apple version is so bad for Live TV. Just wow. I can't play anything live if it is currently recording. I have to start at the beginning. Wack.

   Constantly crushing when switching from Plex to another app. Not able to play downloaded videos.. Whenever I try to switch from Plex to another app by swiping from the bottom of the iPad, Plex crushes and entire system freezes for 30 seconds. Also, I’ve downloaded videos to watch it while I’m on the plane and guess what, I couldn’t. Apparently Plex needs to be connected to Internet to play downloaded videos! Seriously?! I was able to play when I landed and got connected to mobile internet. This app has become an absolute joke…

   Skips every other episode. Every show I watch skips the next one in the autopay and goes to the one after it. It is extremely frustrating and as far as I can tell, there is no fix. The app is just becoming worse every update and I don’t know why it cannot be tested prior to it being released. Please fix this.

   Recent updates. The app is progressively becoming worse with every update. My episodes skip every other one during autoplay now. Very close to bailing on the platform. Sad.

   I Expect Better in 2026. I’ve been a Plex Pass user for over a decade and I am so sad to finally have to write this review. With so many streaming platforms out there, you would think the Plex design team would figure out how to make an intuitive media streaming and playback app. Sadly, the interface continues to be confusing, overly complicated, and often hiding or missing important features. The downloaded media feature sometimes works, and other times is a complete mess. The library is difficult to navigate and the playback controls are awful. If Plex wants to save itself from the open source alternative that everyone is flocking to, they should take a well designed app like AppleTV or Netflix and mirror how they do it. Also, PLEASE read your support forums and fix the bugs that your users are reporting to you! There are so many bugs that pop up in each new update that it feels like you must have outsourced your development to first-year programming students.

    Updates continually worsening experience. No one wants all the new social features. But I would be more tolerant of their existence if you didn’t push buggy updates out the door, breaking things that worked fine in an attempt to add features we didn’t ask for.

    iPad iOS frustrated all to hell and back. Can not login; fails to create code. Can not find any human support. Wasted hours reading forums. Found many others have same issue; no solution supplied. Note: I have a lifetime pass- which does nothing for me if I can not even log into the app.

    Plex has lost their way. The app doesn’t work to even view a local plex server if your network blocks various internet resources like google domains. Bring back 100% local capability. Long time plex pass life member moving to other solutions.

    Search detail page missing cast and crew section. If you search for a movie and go to its detail page, that page does not contain the cast and crew section that would be displayed if you browsed to the movie directly

    You either die a hero…. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I used to absolutely love the Plex app—it was my favorite way to enjoy all my media. When the team released the new version in 2025, I approached it with patience, giving it plenty of time for bugs to be addressed. Unfortunately, even 2 years later, in 2026, the app continues to underperform compared to the older version. The new Plex app often freezes, particularly when switching between libraries or filtering content in the browse library view. These persistent problems make the experience both frustrating and unreliable. The situation became so discouraging that I erased my iPad, retrieved an old device still running the previous version of Plex, created a new backup, and restored it to my current iPad. I then had to manually re-download a year’s worth of apps and content I had added since upgrading. Being highly technical and having an extensive media collection organized in Plex, I decided this three-day hassle was worth it. However, I am now so convinced that the Plex will only continue to worsen that I’ve started setting up a Jellyfin instance to transition my media library once all metadata is properly sorted. If you are just beginning to set up your media server, I strongly suggest starting with one of the available alternatives instead of Plex.

    Stop adding features and fix the app. Who in the world is asking for discussions? Antenna Live tv and many other features since the redesign are a complete buggy mess. Fix what is broken in the streaming of content which is the apps core purpose. Nobody wants letterboxed features, they want a service that works.

    Got greedy; Switching away. Update: although harder to remote stream, Jellyfin is a much better experience if you just watch internally. Free, No cloud account, and downloads included. Use to use the Live TV every day but the ADs have gotten way out of hand making watching shows intolerable. I’ve switched to using Amazon Prime Live TV which has an acceptable level of AD interruptions. Looking into Jellyfin or something else for personal media now.

    Complete Junk. I’ve been a Plex subscriber for as long as I can remember. The app has literally just gotten worse over time. Now it is the buggiest and most unusable it has ever been. I’m pretty tired of this, so I’m going to build a superior competitor that isn’t just an emby fork. The most recent updates were the last straw for me.

    Slowing rebuilding the app we had before. Congrats on replacing a completely great app with a turd. Then when your customers are annoyed, spending months (years?) developing the turd into the app we had before, but with a new logo. It seems like you could have just changed the logo on the original one. But I’m not an executive vice president. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    What a horrible year. Over a year since the major update that ruined this app and it’s still suffering. Poor video quality, failure to even recognize libraries, and more. This is the only version of this app that has so many issues in my house. It really is sad they have the nerves to increase prices with a product performing this poorly.

    Used to work. Man, when this app first came out it was awesome. The ability to stream your stuff anywhere was amazing. Then they started adding all these “features”, and before you knew it they lost the ability to make its most basic function work most the time. More often than not, it looses connection, times out, or stops playing your video for whatever reason, all while loosing the spot you were at so you have to refind where you were in the movie. Multiple times per movie. Again, used to be great, before they decided to “improve” it.
