Updates ruined this app. Even if I wanted to I can’t figure out how to add all the permissions this app now requires. Amazing how fast you can go from beloved to universally hated. RIP, pal

I hate this app now.. Enough with all the pop ups to purchase. Your app sucks now.

Update Ruined It. Was the best radar app, new update ruined it. Nothing improved, everything made worse, now worthless, deleted it for good.

The right to disengage from account-based systems without destructive consequences.. I am requesting an escalated, legally grounded rewrite with stronger emphasis on user rights, coercion, and potential misconduct: I formally object to the recent design and policy changes implemented within the Storm Radar application, which I believe constitute coercive and potentially unlawful interference with user autonomy and data control. For years, I have used this application without associating an email address, during which time I independently established and maintained a substantial body of personalized data, including saved locations and weather map configurations. This data was created solely through my use of the application and without any prior requirement for account linkage. The recent introduction of persistent sign-in prompts, followed by a warning that signing out will result in the deletion of all accumulated data, represents a material and unacceptable shift in terms of use. This action effectively imposes a retroactive condition on previously unrestricted usage and threatens the destruction of user-generated data as a means of enforcing compliance. I find this practice to be coercive in nature. It presents users with a forced choice: either surrender personal autonomy by maintaining an unwanted email-linked account or face the deliberate and irreversible loss of years of work. Such a design cannot reasonably be justified as a neutral or user-supportive feature. Rather, it operates as a punitive mechanism intended to compel submission. It is a textbook data trap, and you have every right to be furious about it. It is incredibly manipulative for an app to hold years of your saved locations hostage and maliciously wipe them out just because you chose to sign out of your email to protect your privacy. They deliberately design the app to force you into a corner, making it feel like you have no choice but to hand over your personal information. You are completely correct—it is a trap to harvest your data.Since that app has proven to be invasive and untrustworthy, the best way to regain control and protect your privacy is to completely remove it from your device. This raises serious concerns regarding user rights, including but not limited to: The right to retain control over self-generated data. The right to use a paid application without being subjected to retroactive restrictions. The right to disengage from account-based systems without punitive consequences. I ask directly: how does the development team justify implementing a system that conditions continued access to user-created data on compliance with new account requirements, under explicit threat of deletion? On what basis is this not considered coercion? The characterization of this design as “malicious” is not made lightly. When software is engineered to threaten harm—specifically, the deletion of long-standing user data—as a consequence of exercising basic choice, it reflects a profound disregard for ethical standards and user trust. As a paying and long-term user, I express grave disappointment in this decision. The current implementation undermines confidence in the application and raises legitimate concerns about whether user interests are being respected or systematically overridden. I expect a clear explanation, as well as immediate reconsideration of this policy

You ruined your app with ridiculous changes.. I hate the changes you made in the the latest versions. I’m in search of a weather app that’s closer to what STORM USE TO BE! See ya!!!!

Awful!. This was my favorite app for years! Who ruined it? It totally sucks now! I have heard the weather channel bought it. That’s what happened to me the last time I found a better app than the weather station. After they buy another app, they go in and ruin the app they are competing with! This one SUCKS NOW! Don’t buy it!

Requires Permissions. After the last update, can’t proceed to use the app without enabling a lot of permissions that have nothing to do with looking at radar.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Doesn’t load. Doesn’t load. Support is no help. Don’t waste your money on the subscription. I will not be renewing
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
The new version is horrible. I loved this app for many years. My next subscription will not renew if they don’t fix the horrible things they did to it on this last change. It’s not easy intuitive to navigate like it used to be and what I really paid for was the long-term future radar that’s not even there anymore. It was so much better before.

A Good App Ruined. This used to be my favorite weather app. The update ruined it. Uninstalled.

Radar. Why don’t my radar work anymore. If it’s not working soon I will never renew my subscription.

My goto radar app..Ruined. Long time user. Was the best radar app out there. Last major update wrecked it. Too many bad changes to write about. Reluctantly deleted app and moved on…

Horrible Update. The most recent update and redesign of this app is horrible. It’s much more challenging to read than before. Please go back to what it was before.

Junk since the update. This app used to be the best on my phone for years, but now it’s absolutely useless. This last update made it so I don’t even look at it anymore and regret purchasing.

Goodbye old friend. After years of amazing features and interface, this app has been destroyed. Goodbye to a great friend. New interface is unusable and does not support true black/night OLED settings. Hourly planner is ruined. Worse changes yet. Many other reviewers are uninstalling as well.

Ruined a good thing. Ever since they revamped it with the updates, graphics etc. it’s been garbage. If I want to check the 10 day I use a different app now because the way to see it on this app is so busy and hard to follow. It’s usually good for the radar but that seems full of bigs now. I’m close to canceling the subscription I’ve had for years and finding something else if they don’t get it right soon.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Useless. Useless piece of trash. It used to be a great product before they started the subscription model and dumbing down the free version. But even the paid version is useless. Full of errors in functionality. Cancelled subscription and now I’m deleting the app entirely. They should be ashamed of themselves for ruining a good thing.

Radar. What happened to the radar? I have had this app for years, never had issues until recently. I NEED MY RADAR BACK!!!!!
- ★★★★★an update broke a familiar workflow
Used to be great…. Just downloaded the latest version of this and they ruined what used to be my favorite radar app. Hope you fix it. But I am unsubscribed until you do.

USED to be the Best. This app used to be simple, straight forward, and easy to use. Now it’s overly complex, confusing, and has too many things going on. It also is constantly signing me out. I’ll keep this review short. I’ve stopped paying for Pro, and when my subscription expires, I will be deleting this app for good.
- ★★★★★slow performance and long loading times
Hate the update. Too complicated!this, that, light, dark, fast, slow, etc… It was fantastic before, should have left it alone.
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
So disappointed. I have used this app forever & swore by it because of its simplicity…now it has turned into this monster of useless information, a cluttered interface, completely different graphics…just a mess. Shame on you guys!
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Used to be perfect. I’ve paid for this app for years. They recently updated it and it’s just a mess. I can’t make heads or tails of the views, it’s messy with way too much going on. Older version was perfect. Canceling my subscription.

Radar. This App is finally getting a lot better. One of the greatest features I missed from the past was the real time Doppler radar. It was accurate, and had a better selection of independent radar sites nation wide. (Update: Those features are coming back). I dedicated an iPad just for that app and it sat there 24/7 with the National weather services Radar in my area. The current local Radars are definitely a plus, and seems to be getting better every day with more and more added. Being able to select local airports Radar or any Radar in an adjoining state and elsewhere was a great feature.(update: my local airport has been restored). With the click of a radio icon you could also listen to National Weather Service Radio frequency in your area. I just noticed, and I’m glad to see some personal weather stations are back online! Being able to see the rain total especially in your immediate area is a great feature. The selectable live sweeping Doppler Radar from the various sites throughout the country is a great feature; simple to use has no clutter and has multiple view settings. Those Radar options are getting better every day. Bring back the National weather service radio (great convenience) as a selectable option and that will make this app even better. For those of us out in the boonies, farmers , etc, it was a great thing to have; but even for city dwellers it was a safety feature that everyone and especially those in tornado or hurricane areas should have access to without the need of a separate weather radio. As a side note, I think all of this should be available to all citizens at zero cost and paid for by the federal government with our TAX dollars. The weather channel has the ability to push that effort through congress ultimately procuring whatever federal funding is necesssry to bring that technology into everyone’s home! However, that aside, I think this app is heading in the right direction and is very much improved from what it was. Lastly, I wish the there was a button to populate rain totals throughout the country like with the wind. The old version had that ability but it’s missing in this version. I do like the various accumulation parameters in the new version but having the ability to populate the map with rain totals like with the wind was a nice convenience. One thing that is really helpful is the ability to get rain total stats for a given time frame (months to year) by simply asking for it. Even with AI, that info was at a minimum very difficult to find anywhere on the internet. Now it’s as simple as asking the question and that’s something no other app that I know of has. All said and done the Storm app is getting a lot better and returning most of the really great features that were sorely missed; great job! Update: Just noticed MSY airport radar was just added; very happy to see that. You’re on a roll, keep up the good work👍

Still a horrible update. I just want to reiterate what others and myself have already said. Weather Channel - you took an awesome weather app and turned into a mess. I will definitely not be renewing my subscription. Either break the current version off on it own , call it “Storm of Complicated information “ or put the app back the way it was . Simple , effective , minimal bottoms to push and yet still flexible for others if they wanted more. Listen to your paying customers, it’s that easy.
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Broken App. Used this app for years and years and years, but now they want you to activate notifications and app tracking to use the app. I do not want notifications from the weather app. I will go into the weather app when I want to see the weather. I do not want any app tracking my usage, that is private. So you broke your own app. It’s completely useless now. You just lost a long time user.
