   ESV Bible, read listen,Study, Reflect. Corgi Mom I do not like this format. I want simple,easy to find scripture. I want a Bible with a table of contents that shows all books of the Bible. On any given minute of time, I want to select any scripture OF MY CHOICE , read then choose any other at any time unrelated to what I read earlier.

   Paid Content on a Bible App. Came back after a long hiatus to listen to Kristyn Getty read Roman’s 8. I had that chapter memorized at one point thank la to listening to her read it. Now it’s under a paywall as well as other content. Absolute greed. Deleting this app from my devices.

   Audio App is disappointing. Two issues with the Audio make the ESV app a 1 star. You can only advance one verse rather than a chapter. Who advances a verse?? Also, what purpose is served by removing (from the original recording) the chapter number? For example, in The Psalms, the recording just moves from one psalm to another but the chapter number is excluded. Since we read and learn the Bible with chapter references, why take them out of the audio?

   Mad that my purchase is no longer valid. I purchased the ESV study bible app years ago and now Crossways is updating and I have lost all access to the study bible. It keeps trying to get me to purchase a monthly plan to access it. Won’t be doing that since I’ve already paid and that wasn’t kept. Don’t waste your time with this.

   Can’t sync from my study ESV Study Bible app. I guess this is an OK app. But I have the ESV study Bible app which is so much better and has so much more on it. I was informed that they were coming out with this new app and that this one would be able to sync everything from the old one to this app . But every time I click on the sync button, nothing happens. So this app is not even close to the ESV study Bible.

   Multiple problems. I had an extremely difficult time setting up an account, it kept saying that my email was wrong, multiple times. Finally it accepted the information. The site is not very intuitive to get around. Once I finish a chapter I haven’t found the easiest way to get to another book And start reading somewhere else. I’m going to give it one more day and then I will delete the app and use something else. I really wanted an app that just had ESV because that’s the translation I’m going to be using this coming year

    Frustrating Subscription Experience. I had a really frustrating experience with this app. I paid for a monthly subscription but was unable to access it due to a technical issue. It took two weeks for support to finally fix the problem, which meant by the time I could use my subscription, half of the month was already gone. I essentially paid full price for half the service. I feel ripped off and disappointed that there was no compensation or extension offered for the lost time. The app itself might be good when it works, but the way this situation was handled makes me hesitant to continue using it or recommend it to others.

    Nothing fancy. I’ve used this for years. Well the good news, it’s the Bible. ESV. The bad news, the app is so basic. My biggest annoyance, front size. Doesn’t use system settings. The biggest font is still unreadable to me without glasses. Not at all accessible. That’s a big fail. As other apps advance, this app is dead. Do better.

    Review 5/22/25. Disappointed that I can’t use a search anymore offline even though I purchased this app together with the Bible. They also threw away my notes and made it harder to find my saved scriptures. Now it’s asking me to sign in when it was open. It just seems like they are trying to control what I do or see.

    Shame on you for bait and switch 4 months in. I’ve listened to Jackie Hill Perry read the Bible in a year since it first released. Now, 4 months in to a new year plan, it’s only a 2 second snippet of a man’s voice and I have to download a poorly laid out app and PAY to continue? I listen instead of read bc there is power in the Scripture read aloud. So now you’re charging and make it difficult to listen? Where even is the Bible in a year on your app? I am not interested in your curated plans. Blocking my preferred voice? Shame on you for blocking people from scripture with a sudden paywall.

    Disappointing price increase. Really like the ESV audio with Kristyn Getty. Just got a subscription renewal so i could continue but was super disappointed that the subscription price doubled from $19.99 last year to 39.99 this year. Had to cancel my subscription due to the 100% increase. I don’t really use other features. Don’t see 100% increases very much especially in just 1 year.

    They’re making real-time changes to Scripture. I’ve used this app for years. They’ve recently made real-time edits. Their version of Gen 3:16 now reads “…in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be FOR your husband, AND he will rule over you.” Actual ESV should read “…in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be CONTRARY TO your husband, BUT he shall rule over you.”

    Shouldn’t need to login. Return the features without requiring login, please. I’ve traded using this app for the analog format of a printed ESV bible.

    Very unhappy with updates. I’m pretty unhappy that previously available content is now locked after updating. It doesn’t seem fair to offer users something for years for free before deciding to charge for it. I used the ESV app exclusively for Kristyn Getty’s narration, but I’m not paying $4 a month for that now.

    Please make the app more accessible with those voiceover. I can’t sign up because you can’t move thr. You cannot sign up for an account if you are using VoiceOver on the iPhone, you can type in your first name and everything else. It does not let you edit in the fields so I unfortunately cannot sign up, but would love to as the ESV is my favorite translation.

    Holy Bible App is better. I have one complaint. When you are reading from a plan, currently I'm reading from the "Digging deep into the Bible" if you're on your current day, or any day for that matter and you click on the scripture reference, there's no back button. So you have to go back into the main page, find your plan and then click your plan and find the day again. After I'm done reading this plan with my church I'll delete the app. Unless they fix it.

    Terrible app!. I subscribed to ESV and all was great. I could go to whatever book I wished and all was fine. Now, a few months later, I wished to use this app in my bible study class and found that something has changed. A book I am reading (John1:13) does not go forward to a verse, but another book (Luke1) comes up and will not be removed. I cannot get to the index to change to another book or verse. What did Crossways do to this resource to not make it useable?

    Loved old version. New version doesn’t allow voice options with audio that were previously free. Very frustrating to lose years of sermon notes with an update because an account was not previously required. So disappointed in an app I previously loved and used daily.

    Ugh!! No way!!. So with the “sign up or you can’t save your stuff” update, and with NO warning or notice, over a decade of Bible highlighting & bookmarks & favorites are gone. They were all carried forward through MULTIPLE iPhone upgrades & backups. Never one problem with them showing up until now. But someone decided NOT to preserve them in this new system. What a downgrade to previously excellent service. Pardon me for suspecting you aim to generate $$$ via data mining & subscription plans. Frustrated. Disappointed. Sad.
