   Square Invoice Payment Transparency Concerns. One thing I don’t like about Square invoices is that they’re not very transparent when it comes to payment timing. Once I send an invoice, I never really know when I’ll get paid, which makes it harder to plan and manage cash flow.

   Wrong way to do business. Square never asked me to start charging me a monthly fee plus a transaction fees. This is unacceptable.

   Sucks donkey balls. They are exstreamly over priced no customer service and make figuring out exactly how much $ in fees to them that have been paid by the customer unnecessarily difficult I suspect because they charged me 40 grand for essentially nothing

   DO NOT RECOMMEND. This is a horrible company. 10/10 do NOT recommend using them! They will shut your account down and even if you send in proof of everything for your business they will still shut it down and deactivate it! My grandmother passed away out of state and I needed the money in my account to travel and they will not release my funds to me! So think twice before you use square cause they will screw you over! They do not have compassion for anyone. So just keep that in mind before You make the decision to run your business using them! Couldn’t imagine what would happen if you needed to pay taxes and use that money and they won’t release the money for you to pay bills! Be very careful !

    Contracts don’t hold.. We have terms and conditions, we have verbal and written agreements about canceling. Client chooses to cancel and then square pulls the deposit from our account. Absolutely bs We will be canceling all accounts and using another provider.

    Horrible customer service. If you ever have to dispute a charge, they treat you like a criminal and you have to wait 90 days just for a decision.

    Unable to stop recurring charges. I tried a membership option for a nonprofit I run and I stopped the membership option last year, but, they keep charging people. There appears to be no way to stop these charges.

    Square fees. I’ve been using Square for my business, and I want to provide some direct feedback based on my experience. First, your processing fees are simply too high for the value being delivered. As a small business owner operating on tight margins, every percentage point matters and at this point, your pricing structure feels out of alignment with what competitors are offering. Second, the invoicing system is underwhelming. While it’s functional, it lacks the level of customization, professionalism, and flexibility that I need to present polished, high-quality estimates and invoices to my customers. For a platform positioned as a business solution, this feels like a missed mark. Because of these issues, I am actively exploring alternative payment processors that offer more competitive rates and stronger invoicing capabilities. I wanted to share this feedback in case it’s helpful. I would absolutely consider staying with Square if improvements were made in pricing and product quality but as it stands, it’s becoming difficult to justify continuing to use the platform.     Trash app. STAY AWAY. They have no issue taking the customers money, but will refuse to let you transfer it from your Square account to your primary bank. POS app, and I advise everyone to stay away!

    Kind of a joke. They change how stuff works often enough to drive a person crazy. Seems like a couple times a year I need to re learn how to use their software. When it comes to their shipping program, their rates are horrible. Most of the time I use pirateship.com because it saves my customers a ton of money on shipping charges. It’s sad how much cheaper pirateship.com is over shippo.

    Too many Fees. Takes 5.79 percent of my sales with an instant transfer and just fees to use it. Not the best. Might as well continue using Venmo.

    Love it. They really know how to mess with somebody’s income. When I took my first deposit and you freeze my account… makes me look very unprofessional one because now I have to go back to the customer and say hey sorry I can’t get those materials today I got to get them tomorrow. And then now I just got a wait for all this money to magically float back to me. You guys are a joke . Crazy that I came back and this is what I had already written. As of 3-12-26. You are just as if not worse than when I wrote this. I truly do not know how people haven’t sued or tried to go after these losers.

    Unreasonable check holds. As a business owner, I need to utilize my income as it’s received and this system holds business checks for an unreasonable amount of time - especially in comparison to other apps I use (square takes 1-2 weeks while my other apps are immediate deposits or in some cases 24hrs tops-

    Y’all charge a arm and a leg to simply transfer money from one account to another. I will not be using this anymore and will be telling all customers and small businesses owners to stop as well

    Stop Requiring Microphone Access!. You do not need microphone access. Nobody uses those old headphone jack swipe card readers anymore. Response: that’s my point. The main Square app will not even open if I don’t grant continuous microphone access. Please fix on both.

    Fraud. I do not recommend! I set up acct and charged a customer just to have square shut down my acct and keep my money. You can’t even speak to a supervisor! I tried for days! I’ll be filling a law suit and fraud charges. Save yourself the time and money and stay clear of square!
