   AWFUL app and team.. I purchased premium yet they wouldn’t let me use it. I emailed them 10+ over the span of two months with no response. Don’t waste your time on this app, they just want to steal your money.

   Bait and switch. Will take your personal details and then you find out it’s a 7 day trial. Also don’t share costs at that point either - I had to Google it. Not cheap.

   Very limited content and poor functionality. Low content availability for Swahili. Mainly you can import content on your own and then use the app as a glorified dictionary. The app also broke within 2 weeks of using and now fails to track progress.

   Terrible interface in accurate translations and missing audio. I bought a year of this app to round out my apps for learning Spanish. The interface to me is super confusing. The guided courses are missing audio for words so when you go to do a listing exercises the audio is missing. The translations are not accurate. This app looks like it is just using AI to translate everything and provides a ton of content but no clear path on what to do. I honestly hate this app and regret purchasing it. If you try this buy it for one month and see if it works for you. For my brain I need some kind of structure and this interface and learning method isn’t for me. This just looks like information vomit. I have forced myself to use it everyday for almost a month and I find my self using other apps more and more to avoid this one. I wish I could get my money back. Wasted $120. I got an email from someone at LingQ asking how I liked it I told them I didn’t like it. They responded with “It’s really sophisticated you have to get used to it” then links to some videos that don’t help at all. This app isn’t good. Sorry developers but you may be great coders but your interface skills are not there. Get someone else to wrap this up in a better interface and you might have a winner. Either way I want my money back.

   Horrible app. Text is cut off in audio lessons. No next button. Why does anyone use this?

   Good luck getting a refund. Out over $125 because it renewed the subscription after the free trial. it hasn’t been a week and already Apple says it’s not eligible for a refund and they say they cant refund if purchased through Apple even though it’s their services. Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. Try at your own risk.

   Cannot recommend this app. This app on the one hand is useful — when it works. However, there are so many “gotchas” and bugs introduced by software updates that I would never recommend it to anyone. They would be constantly asking me how to work around the issues, and I would feel embarrassed that I recommended it.

   Fraudulent charges. I subscribed and then unsubscribed a few days after. They sent me an email confirming me that I unsubscribed. In reality they charged me for 7 extra months and refused to refund me. I only got 2 months refunded as I had to go through Apple. It’s not that big of a deal but it was around $100 which sucks. I recommend staying away or it might happen to you as well.

    YouTube not working. You tube imports have not worked in a while, all I get is they are monitoring this issue. I get 95% of my content from youtube. I paid over $200 or $300 for this and it doesn’t work and they don’t offer any support!

    You can not cancel the subscription. Look up “cancel lingq subscription”. It is a major problem. It is a good service but do not trust them with your money. I have contacted support and they said they cancelled me but I’m still getting charged. The people in control of this app are scummy.

    App doesn’t work and no support. App worked the first day and didn’t. They don’t tell you you should be familiar with the alphabet before you start learning. A lot of money for something that doesn’t work.

    Thought it was a reading app. Too much useless content. Filters don't work. Titles of content are dumb and spammy looking. Overall lack of attention to detail. Dictionary seems to have a bug. Format of text from videos is off. I thought I'd get books and short stories with audio, nowhere to be found..

    lots of AI. just so much AI. why would i want to use an app built specifically for learning that relies THIS heavily on a notoriously unreliable technology that’s known for giving its users false info? if i wanted to get incorrect google translations for words i would just go to google translate or just bang my head against the wall until it feels like a new connection is being made, because that would be about the same value of experience as using this.

    Buggy app, trivial functionality available elsewhere for free , nonexistent customer suppor. Free tier is a joke with only 20 words that can be saved. Signed up for premium plan with a free first week, but the account never reflected the upgrade and received no response from customer service. Language Reactor is better for videos with more generous free tier and a cheaper premium. Plenty of alternatives for reading too. No real differentiation and overall poor experience.

    Annoying UI. Stop prompting and notifying me about stupid streaks and meaningless points especially during a lesson. I really don’t care for this. I don’t want streaks or points. I’m not gambling, I’m trying to learn…

    Bait and switch: AI simplification. I recently bought an annual subscription to import and simplify content. Today I lost the ability to do both. The AI Simplification feature was moved to a new pricing tier (no notification, no grandfathering), and sharing content from Safari to Lingq is crashing. UPDATE: Lingq fixed the bug, still haven’t fixed the bait-and-switch.

    The “Free” plan is a joke. The free version of this app is completely useless. They only let you work on 20 words at a time, but once you click on 20 words you’re locked out, even if you know the words in question you can’t add them to your “learned” list. I didn’t spend much time using the app as I was quickly locked out from any further use. It all seemed like a cheap ploy to get me to subscribe to an expensive plan, where all the app offers are dictionary entries for Spanish words. These days I could just get an epub in Spanish and a Spanish to English plugin that will accomplish the same thing, except with material I actually want to read and without any paywalls. No thank you to LingQ. I have no idea why anyone likes this app.

    Turned a great learning app into a money grab. I used LingQ for the better part of a year, and thought the steep price tag for premium was worth it because of the features. Now they just released PREMIUM PLUS, which takes already existing features in premium, and moves them to an EVEN MORE expensive tier and takes away access from existing paid premium users. I wouldn’t be mad if they created a new tier, I’m mad because this more expensive tier just takes existing features and paywalls them. Do better for your customers.

    Netflix ext is awful. They don’t tell you that in order to actually use the Netflix extension, for which I bought this app, you have to have a PhD and a super computer of some kind. Never actually did get it to work. Total disappointment.

    I'm paying for the service but can't use the forums. The language learning is OK, but even though I pay for the service I'm not allowed to use the forums. I can't get anyone to answer my questions about why or get my access restored. They are not responsive.

    Painfully clumsy interface. I did the free trial (Indonesian) and gave up because the interface is so clumsy. I gave up. Another program I have been trying is do much more user friendly. To be clear, my concern was not about my individual learning style. It is about the poorly designed interface.

    Emon. 🟡🟨When you upload a video from YouTube, the text does not sync with the audio or video at all. Even worse, the sentence structure and words often get changed, making it confusing and unreliable. There’s also no option to upload your own .srt files, even if you have perfectly synced subtitles from third-party tools. This makes the video learning feature nearly useless, especially for serious language learners. Very disappointed with this limitation. 1👎🏻
