   Beware…this app has serious bugs.. Beware…this app has serious bugs, and the developers have no interest in fixing them! I joined this app in August 2024 and I have noticed one very consistent pattern. Whenever I have a high streak, the app tells me that I have missed a day when I know I have not. It then forces for me to watch ads, which wouldn’t be an issue if it fixed the glitch/problem, but, it doesn’t. This has been going on for a while now and I have reached out to the app’s technical support team, and no one has ever responded to my messages. I really like this app, but it won’t allow you maintain a high streak, which is unfortunate, because it seems the app developers are way more concerned with making money from ads. I am seriously rethinking this app now.

   Forcing advertisements. I check on this app daily, and sometimes, even when I have maintained my “streak” it tells me I missed the word for the day, and asks to either watch an ad, or join premium. This is lame.

   Ai art. I paid for lifetime membership and loved it at first when they had real artists but the ai art is awful and I wish I can have my money back

   Stop with the EXP / Streaks!. This app could be great, but be aware that they have the MOST annoying animations that play out (probably eats up about 15 seconds every time you access the app) for rewards, or EXP, or other ridiculous things that you’re not able to disable. I’ve left them a ton of feedback over the last year, and they haven’t followed up once. Make this configurable please. Otherwise, you have a great experience that is blocked by an addictively designed mechanism that is so stupid that I cannot use the words I want to use. You can do better.

   DONT BUY. I would not recommend this app to anyone. it is structured nice however, if you do have a “limited “ vocabulary there’s no way you can use this app as a tool. Simply because it doesnt really introduce you to new words, however it consists of games where u should already know those words. i just dont think this is an ideal app

   7 day “free” trial. The app charged me after 2 days of trying the 7 day “free” trial. Left a bad taste in my mouth and felt dishonest. Had to go through apple to get a refund.

    Not Functional Without Subscription. This app is pretty useless if you want to have a widget and enjoy just a new word everyday. The first screen to popup is for a streak but its just a trick popup for a subscription.

    Scam. Tried to charge 22 bucks for free trial. Luckily I m poor and my card got declined otherwise I would be without 22 dollars after clearly reading “free trial for 7 days”. I hope you won’t take my last 22 dollars which I had under my pillow. Joking aside, this is a very unfortunate experience. It is the second time when AppStore is trying to charge 22 dollars for a free trial. The other time it was also from a similar word app.

    deceptive. The description makes it seem that there is a premium version you can access with a subscription, implying that there us a non-premium version you can access for free. There isn’t. The only option is a paid subscription. Also, the description claims there are 9 languages available, but I’ve looked through all the settings and I can’t find a way to change the language from English. Deleted immediately.

    Not able to access daily words. I log in daily to check the new word. This morning I get on at 6 am, and it says that I “missed the word” and have to watch an ad to get it! This has happened the last 2 days in a row. There are way too many ads for my taste.

    Apple won’t sign in. No Access. just bought the subscription and it won’t even let me sign into my apple. there’s no other way to create an account. tried with email and it won’t take. it just spins every time i try and log into apple. it unsaved all of my progress to the dumb questions they answer in the beginning so i have to do it all again because the app keeps quitting in the middle of sign in. clicking the “forgot password” button generates an outlook email to their support team. very odd. do not download.

    Too many ads. For anything clickable on the app comes with an ad. Its simply too much. Takes all the fun out of learning.

    Constant ads. I used to like going on this app, even through the constant changes and annoyances as they would revamp the app. But now when you click to do anything there’s an ad first. What used to be a somewhat enjoyable experience doing quizzes and games has become an aggravating ad watching nightmare. No thank you.

    Widget it useless. Widget is absolutely useless. Never updates, even when I click it to update it I open the app and have to click through 4-5 screens about keeping a streak and I missed a word yesterday and advertisements etc etc. The only way to ultimately update the widget is removing it entirely and re-adding it. Complete headache for something I intended to glance at a couple times a day.

    It's a 4-star experience, but-. I like this app. It's probably one of the best vocabulary learning apps on the market. I was really enjoying my experience, especially the fact that there is art for each word each day. Then I took a closer look at today's word-art, 'vituperative'. I'm a digital artist, so I know how to spot AI when I see it. Today's word-art is obviously AI generated. I've been paying for a subscription, and seeing that an app that is already so popular and has a lot of people paying for it is now using AI content makes me very upset. I'll be canceling my subscription, and just using the base version of the app.

    Getting greedy. The images used to be free but know you have to subscribe or watch 2 ads to unlock them. Just ridiculous and unnecessarily greedy.

    What a scam. Do better Apple. I love to learn vocabulary and play games to jog my memory and build that muscle like the next person. Again and again, most apps rely on you using a free trial in hopes of you not remembering to cancel. I canceled the day of and still have been expected by this app and Apple in general to pay $50 for a year of this. I was unable to download new apps, and was continuously charged on cards that I did not approve for this amount of money. I hope that your company enjoys the $50, and just know that it’s very predatory.

    New feature is annoying.. Recently this easy flowing app added a two step process to see the picture and sentence that explained the word. Then another button to send a cluster of stars to claim the word and add to your daily words for the month. I loved the previous format and complements to the artists.but this 3- step process drives me crazy. Also the words are increasingly commonly used words. No interesting ones that expand my prose.
