Canceled. I canceled day one of my two week trail, at the end of that trial I still got a force charged. This app needs reviewed by apple before being allowed to still be on the platform.

No corporate oversight for employee conduct. I am writing this review to advise others about a significant lack of professional accountability in this company's support structure. I had a distressing experience in the app with a senior agent. I was told by both him and another agent as well as in reddit, that no escalation path exists and there is no supervisor above them to address grievances. It is a major red flag that a company forces customers to communicate solely with the individual they are complaining about with no corporate oversight.

Unresponsive. The app is unresponsive keeps using equipment I don’t have pretty much not worth anyone’s money chatgbt can do what it does because it doesn’t record properly

Not user-friendly. This thing is so confusing. It has all them teeth, but no toothbrush.
- ★★★★★сложный интерфейс и построение своей программы
Confusing. I don’t know if it’s because it’s promotional access but I litekay cannot adjust anything with this app. I need to change what I have and there’s no way to do that ever since I got new equipment.

Bad. Nearly unusable as is. First, it created a workout plan with an absurd amount of volume. Second, the smart progression feature is useless. After painstakingly editing all the weight counts for every machine and weight set it still recommends stupid amounts of reps per exercise OUTSIDE of the rep goal window it recommends! Or weight that isn’t within the weight parameters I set. So I had to disable. All said and done what I ended up with after all the editing and feature disabling was just a workout tracker app like Strong but with a far more complicated UI. Not worth it. Really disappointed. I hope this reaches a developer as I have been a long time Jeff Nippard fan and a daily religious macro factor user.

Lack of integrations. I would probably rate it a 5 star if I was able to actually import workouts and track other things like running
- ★★★★★сложный интерфейс и построение своей программы
Terrible!. Absolutely hate this app. It is entirely non-intuitive, the workout duration is not accurate, you cannot change the program after you’ve set up the app, and the recommended reps and sets are awful. I can’t believe how disappointed I am in this app.

Gets worse the more you use it. I really liked this program the first week I did it. Now, the suggested workouts are a waste of time. Somehow week over week I’m doing less and less and the workouts aren’t progressing. Sometimes it gives me impossible sets like overhead barbell press at 1lb. The weight progression it recommends often means taking off one weight to rack 6 more so you go down by 2.5 or small increments. I may try using it to track my own lifts but the AI usage here sucks. It’s true of MacroFactor as well where it’s recommended I stay on a 1400 calorie diet for over a year.
- ★★★★★сложный интерфейс и построение своей программы
No recommended weights for sets and reps. Doesn’t suggest weights for the workouts so it can learn or so you can get started overcomplicated to use , Fitbod is less complicated and easier to use.

App sucks. MF app is awesome. MF workouts app is such a disappointment. Very bland compared to many other free apps. I have a full gym with most equipment and machines. But the app gives me the same exercises over and over, every week. The only positive thing i can say about the app is the UI. Besides that, very meh. Any AI out there can create a better workout programs for you. Don’t waste your money.

Buggy app. App keeps crashing and workouts cannot get activated.

Falls Short of Competition. I have used several workout apps this one falls short of the competition. No Apple Watch integration - means I have to carry my phone around in the gym. Also means heart rate is not tracked so Apple Health data is incomplete. Also cannot import workout/exercise history from other apps. Not an issue for beginners. But those of us with tons of lifting behind us don’t want to start over on our progress or PRs. I also certainly do not need confetti cannons going off every time I complete a set. These little celebrations are a distraction and aren’t helping anyone lift.

Hard Truth. Since no one wants to say it, I will. The app UI/UX is trash. If you are a beginner and just need the app to pop out a workout split and can’t manually figure out progressive overload I could see this being beneficial. The easiest way to build a split is to either get stuck with a full body or push pull split that isn’t exactly what you want or to pay Jeff for a plan that you could upload to the app with ease. If you want to build from scratch you will be stuck spending over an hour doing so. Finding the specific exercises you want in this interface is abysmal, the screen is too busy, many exercises don’t have a video along side it. Ultimately I’ve given up because this app should have stayed in beta. I’ll come check it out maybe in 6 months to see if things have changed. One more thing, the name sucks. “MacroFactor Workouts” makes no sense. MacroFactor makes sense for the standalone app but calling a Workout app Macro anything is not smart.

Overly complicated-Too rigid. This app had promise, but it collapses under its own complexity. Instead of enabling training, it actively gets in the way. Basic workout creation is unnecessarily constrained, forcing users into the app’s logic rather than supporting how experienced lifters actually train. I paid for a tool and got a maze. The hype leans heavily on “science” and optimization, but that clearly didn’t trickle down to the actual user experience. What’s presented as intelligent design feels more like rigid dogma wrapped in marketing. For anyone who already understands programming and progression, this is not just disappointing, it’s unusable. I’m cancelling and returning to something simpler, faster, and actually intuitive.

Meh. Overly complicated and long winded. Poor design choices. It’s a circle jerk of science based lifting. The nutrition app is fantastic. This is bad. Who is leading this app design to be so bad compared to their first app?

I don’t get the draw. Overly rigid and not useful. I tried a workout program, and after page 3 of the exercise text instructions, decided to work out my way. But I couldn’t record my exercise because they’re not in the app database. So much setup and so much structure just not worth the effort.

Not Recommended in its Current State. Unfortunately the program generator is a swing and a miss. They claim it wasn't the focus for day 1 launch...and it shows. I think it would be an improvement for someone who has never followed a routine before, but for lifters who are used to intelligent & well thought out programs it will be a disappointment.

Overly Complicated. I had high hopes for MF workouts but it’s just too complicated and overwhelming imo. Kudos for building, will be looking elsewhere for workouts.

Can’t customize set and rep ranges. I want a feature when setting up the program to say I want to do 2-3 sets per exercise, and use rep ranges of 4-6 or 8-12, and whatnot. Instead, it makes you go into each exercise and change, rather than making the change to the whole thing.

Lots of current issues, all fixable. The bad: Generally over engineered, unintuitive. Lacks video examples of women performing exercises. Buggy: have lost multiple workout sessions due to workouts getting stuck and unable to complete. Way too many clicks to just see what I did on an exercise last session. Doesn’t tell me the name of the workout in the history logs. Can’t see actual set logs from dashboard. Appears to use some weird rolling window algo to calculate 1rm instead of discrete logged sets so that even when I lift less with the same weight my 1rm goes up for that session. Doesn’t allow you to change your logged set’s weight or reps without resetting rest timer. Exercise naming conventions are precise but hard to recognize on dash board when cutoff: half my exercises just say “Plate-Loaded…” or “Overhand Grip Pin Loaded…” and never get to the only thing I want to see there which is “Shoulder Press” or “Machine Row”. Can’t search for exercises to add to dashboard, must scroll through everything. Impossible to add two of the same exact workout to a single cycle without duplicating it, resulting in duplicating work when adding/removing exercises from that workout. The time estimates for a workout are wildly inaccurate, completely underselling how long a given workout will take. To make a point I plugged in Jeff’s own “45 minute leg routine” and the app guessed it would take 14 minutes. The good: sleek ui. Easily swap exercises during a session. Easy to add/remove sets or exercises during a session. Extremely wide and precise available exercise selection. Easily see number of sets per muscle per week

Login. Having to re-build my plan and equipment every time I open is very annoying. It doesn’t save any account info when the app closes

Interface is needlessly complex. I wanted to like this app but its interface is overly complicated. The design just gets in the way of actually working out.
- ★★★★★нет apple watch и слабая синхронизация с health
Not worth the current price. UI/UX is a mess. No apple watch app. Many exercise videos missing. Overly verbose written instructions. Using RIR system is a very questionable decision for the average lifter. Not worth the current asking price when other competitors simply do everything better.

Bugs. this app has some of the most annoying bugs that have not been addressed. Support basically told me they dont have a fix right now and we’re supposed to wait it out. IF you can ignore those bugs, the apps great and hopefully those issues get patched soon but it is very annoying that support has basically given up trying to help me with this issue

I want to like this but it needs work!!. While I like a lot about the app, there is more that I don’t like that has me hesitant to switch. Here are the issues I keep running into: 1) when I try to create a custom exercise I almost always get a message saying “this used to be a custom exercise, but it is no longer on our radar.” So it will not let me add any data or use it as an exercise. 2) the naming of exercises is all over the place. 3) the suggestions for weight and reps often don’t make sense. They will reduce weight it reps even if I was within the set rep goal on the previous workout day or even the previous set. 4) this is small but there is nothing that tells you that you just set a PR. It’s nice and can be motivating to see that when it happens. 5) when searching for an exercise and trying to filter them by a specific muscle, it will show you every exercise that has that muscle listed even if it’s listed as a secondary muscle. So when I search for a rear Delt exercise I get just about every back exercise. This makes the filter about worthless. There are some other minor issues but these are the main ones that keep me from using this as my main app.

Rings. It’s an amazing app, but it messes with your workout and Move ring on your Apple Watch, and it will subtract the workout when you hit complete in the app.

It’s alright, definitely better out there though.. After using MacroFactor for a year or so, I was excited to learn that Jeff Nippard came out with a new app similar to it but for working out. However, after using it for a few weeks, it is fairly lack luster compared to other training apps out there such as “the train app.” So here’s the pros and cons. The pros: The app is definitely nice. It used the same formula as the macro factor app to make workouts for you. This is extremely nice especially when you want to gain strength. Specifically, I think the best feature of this app is its ability to help you find the correct weight for each set. So far in my workouts, the app is mostly spot on. If I’m doing leg curls and the app recommends 11 reps at x weight… 11 reps is nearly perfect every-time. Along with this the feature that is has for each rep range, such as failure or 2 reps in reserve, is very convenient and really helps you stay on track each workout. The next biggest pro is that the app has, I think, EVERY possible exercise there is at any gym. The cons: While the pros of this app are definitely big time pros the cons make it hard to really say the app is worth it compared to other training apps. For one, the alert for when it’s time for your set is not great. Yes it will give you a little bell but other apps I’ve used will give you multiple alerts. For example, if I’m doing a set and the rest time is 1:30 at 30 seconds I’ll get an alert in my AirPods saying “30 seconds” repeat at 15 seconds and then a count down at 5 and it automatically turns up the music. The workouts app does not do this and only gives a small bell as an indicator to a set. Next, other apps will actually connect to your Apple Watch. A big plus to this is that they also track the reps you do (if it’s an upper body exercise or a squat like exercise of course). Sadly the workouts app does not, in my opinion this really helps in the gym as you do ever have to count reps and can just focus on the exercise and mind muscle connection itself. The last con I have is actually just some of the exercises that are suggested themselves. While I’m sure they must be the greatest exercises scientifically for muscle growth. Some of these exercises suggested do feel like a waste of time. Nordic hamstring curls are great for a high school football team that may not have a big enough weight room for everyone to get reps in. However, Nordic hamstring curls are not good if you’re at a gym and have multiple machines to hit hamstrings and glutes. With all this said, I would recommend this app to anyone who has used MacroFactor in the past or if you’re new to the gym. However if you’re experienced in the gym, there are other apps that are just better.

Really disappointed. This is my first ever app review, and leaving it because I’m a huge fan of Jeff’s and love his MacroFactor Nutrition app, but the Workouts app is not doing it for me. Positives: * Gives suggested weights/reps to progress * Is integrated with the MacroFactor Nutrition app Negatives: * No audio on rest timer (even with the “play sound” setting toggled on) * If I log a set and it’s incorrect, and I don’t notice it til halfway through my rest, once I edit it, it starts my rest timer over from the beginning * Also, if I log a set and it’s incorrect and I need to adjust it, as soon as I tap it to make the changes, it removes what I already put in and resets it to what the suggest weight and reps were, which is annoying if I only needed to make one quick little change * There have been times I go to do an exercise, and it shows my previous workout having used much more weight than I did. Realized I missed the decimal when logging it last time, and there’s no way to edit my weight/reps from previous workouts, so it’s throwing off my data * It can be difficult/annoying trying to find specific exercises- have to scroll FOREVER through the extensive list of exercises to find what I’m looking for. Even difficult when searching because the exercise I’m looking for is in a very specific name * Also trying to swap a given exercise with one I’d already manually added in before, but when I search for it, it doesn’t appear. Exercises are just difficult to find in general. * Some weight/rep recommendations are awful: my last workout with doing pull ups, my max reps were 10, now it want me to target the 16-18 rep range?!? This is really disappointing because this is the biggest feature I was looking forward to to help me with progressive overload * I’ve had issues where the rest timer didn’t start automatically after logging a set, so I went to start it myself, but then saw the rest timer wasn’t even there for some reason * I can understand not having video demonstrations for exercises I added manually, there are exercises, that I’d never heard of/seen, that are given to me by the built-in, provided program, not having video demonstrations (the dumbbell frog pump for example) Overall, very annoyed and disappointed with the app. I enjoyed logging my workouts with the Strong app MUCH more.

Needs Worl. App has a lot of potential but sometimes they make your workout certain areas to much. For example the app set up for me to do 4 separate chest exercises in 5 days. How does it not expect me to be sore.
