THIS APP IS SO CORNY. this made me feel like alpha MALE 🐺 I honestly cringed so hard it made me wanna throw up I think my wife will be fine if I don’t call her lady lumbar jack or whatever like as a man it’s hard for me to cringe but this app definitely did it

Terrible and not informative. Stupid premise and metaphor that is hyper macho for no reason. Doesn’t tell you any useful information. Recommend getting any of the other apps.

Corny. Only a few minutes in this app and already see its way too corny and cheesy. Not a good resource for learning about your child’s development. Stupid tops it’s pathetic.

Poorly executed. This app is a good idea in thought but it really lacks information and depth. It recycles the the same half baked advice every few weeks like, “vitamin B6, look into it” or something along the lines of keeping the path to the bathroom clean. I was expecting thorough articles on what to expect and how to dad but in reality, there isn’t much to the app. Just a little shape saying how big the baby is and some poor attempts at humor sprinkled throughout. Save your time and get another app or an actual dad book. Rated 5 stars for what? Fathers with a middle school reading level? 🙅🏻‍♂️👎🏻

This app is a joke. Literally no helpful information came from this app. The only thing you get from this appThat is even semi-helpful is the week by week size of the baby. This I’ve literally says stuff like you have a beaver for feet you’re chomping through the woods you’ll be fine.

A waste of 15 minutes of our pregnancy.. This is the stupidest app I have ever put on my phone. I get better information from targeted adds then I do in this app. The fact that this was one of the top rated pregnancy apps for dads says something about our culture, I’ll stick to the bump for now. Lady lumberjill agrees with me.

App has gone to crap. Used for 1st pregnancy and was great. 2nd pregnancy rolls around, get excited to use app and now crashes, lost all previous data, and unusable. Luckily their are other app options now geared for dads. Hopefully with better App support, also.

Not accurate. This app is not accurate at all. What it says about the changes in my wife are far from true and the size comparison for the tiny parasite are also quite a bit off.

Doesn't work. I tried to create an account but it just sat there on the account creation form. There was no error message or anything. To the app owners : I can recommend some good overseas QA workers if you want to start actually testing your app before release 🙄

Embarrassed to show your wife this app? Good.. The absolute best app to stoke toxic masculinity. The best! I love that the “lady clues” about your wife on week 11 is “Help her be vigilant in keeping normal portions.” The first piece of advice the app gave me (week 4) was to stop looking at that hot waitress because my wife is pregnant now. Thanks for the tip!

Stupid. If you want an app to tell you you nothing about your baby, but coddle some fragile manhood. This is for you. Most information is something like “this week you’ll be chopping wood with your bare hands and eating sawdust” TF does that have to do with pregnancy.

Treats men like they’re Neanderthal idiots.. Minimally helpful. Condescending & assumes men are dumb. Provides very little helpful info about growth/development in-utero. Daily tips include useless gems like: “give her a compliment” or “tell her she looks pretty today.” Come on, stop treating me like they’re idiots & get them involved in the pregnancy!!! They should feel informed & included, too.

Didn’t do anything for me. App design is pretty good, app content not so much. Like a lot of people have said, it almost seems like it’s a kids app.

Children’s app. It says twelve and up, and they are right, but not too much “up”. No meat, only cute graphics and speaking in a childlike code where there is text. I can’t remember if I paid for it, but whatever it was was too much.

Perpetuates unhelpful stereotypes. Super patronising. I don’t understand the need for it to be all “manly” and “lumberjacky”.

Ridiculous.. Literally doesn’t even work, I go to open the app and nothing comes up at all. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling 2 times and still nothing.

Awkward Body Negativity. This app talks about mother-to-be’s size WAY too much and is really cringe in the way it constantly assumes weight/appearance is the biggest issue. All the tips are some ape-ish tongue in cheek garbage about “don’t make beeping noises when she’a backing up” etc etc (I think that one was on there at least twice. Get rid of the boomer humor and outdated body image jokes and it’s actually a decent app with nice functionality. As a caring husband and soon-to-be father, I would appreciate some actual tips on infant/child care or helpful two-person exercises for mom to prepare for labor. Not this *hyuck* pregnant woman get big *hyuck* trash. Boring, try again.

Does have a few good tools so I guess it’s not entirely useless. The tone of this app is condescending and the daily tips are really not for people who are full partners. Today’s tip was “Ask _____ how her day was. Don’t just act interested. Be interested!” …of course I care about my wife and want to know how her day was. A pregnancy app telling me to ask about that contributes nothing. I thought this app would give me insight about the development of my child with a fun theme. If that’s your goal, keep looking. What little information about development there is uses language that doesn’t actually help. My wife’s doctor doesn’t refer to “the mountain” phase or know what it is. The only reason I did not rate it 1 star is because it does have a helpful checklist. Not more comprehensive than other to-do lists, but I’m sure someone would find the list useful.

Not what I was expecting. Do you have the emotional maturity of a 14 year old, and live in a log cabin? Do you get confused as to why your wife gets mad when you flirt with the waitress at Applebee's? Did you sleep through every high school biology class? Do you view pregnancy and childbearing not as a life path that you and your wife take equal roles in, but rather a large obstacle that must be conquered? If so, this is the app for you. However, if you find it insulting that the only advice given to you for a certain week is to tell your wife you love her and actually mean it, then I would check out the Big Daddy app instead.

Not for the mature male, Cartoons for the adult-child.. I can honestly say this is the first thing that has ever offended me. I can understand that in order for some people to learn you need to make it relatable but wow… The theme of the app makes it look as if us men are all children and can’t handle a more suitable mature, professional themed content. Not sure how this app was rated #1 for expecting fathers. Just delete it and install the what to expect when you’re expecting app, even though it is more geared for women it has all the essential information and allows you to be more involved.

Won't open. The app won't open I've redownloaded it like 4 times. N it still won't open..

A fresh reason to roll your eyes every week. All the information is there. But then there are these attempts at humor that.... It’s like going to a comedy open mic and seeing people who really are not funny in the slightest try their hardest. And they bring their friends who all tell them how great it was. It was not. I read a review about people being “offended” by this content. I am not offended in the slightest. This app is like Tim Allen - NOT FUNNY, but trying hard.

Auto progression. Just wondering if there is a way that the app can auto progress so I don’t have to keep going back and sliding the “yellow dot” thanks

Stupid and sexist. This app is dumb. It is the definition of toxic masculinity. And to be clear I am a heterosexual cisgendered male and this app offends me. I love to do everything out doorsy as well as get a mani pedi when I want. My wife and I are equals and fatherhood is no a mountain the needs to be conquered it is a life change that must be embraced and assessed like all of life’s choices. This app is trying to teach men that have to be this solid object that just cannot be attained. The reason I didn’t give it 1 star is that it does have SOME accurate information about development and mom’s needs. Do better! If This app wants men to “Daddy up” it should really talk about what being a dad really means. Like tips on talking to your kids and talking to mom about what she wants and needs. Dad needs to know what mom wants for her birth plan and to support all of her decisions unless they put her or baby in danger.

Unreliable. Have to log back in every time I open the app, and the contraction counter completely deleted randomly after 4 hours of recordings.

Fun but unreliable. Most of the app is fun and has some helpful hints and resources but it cannot be counted on to save info. I spent about an hour adding prospective names to a list and came back today to find none of them saved. If only I could get my damned hour back.

Disappointed. I wish this app was less focused on the mountain man jokes/puns and more focused on giving information about my babies development. This app has a lot of potential but it needs to be less about the jokes and more about my baby.

The message is obscured by over-the-top lingo. There’s a lot to love about this app. It checks all the boxes and provides everything you would expect: weekly advice, checklists, important things to think about, ideas for how to love your wife in different ways, and so on. What aggravates me is the exaggerated lumberjack language that the developer seems to be proud of. It’s not the theme as a whole that bothers me (this isn’t “toxic masculinity” lol) and believe me, it’s not a bad thing to have lighthearted humor and a dash of color to help illustrate the big ideas. But what it needs is some balance. Like, the fact that everything has to go by the cutesy names that they decided on. For example, navigating the app to look ahead or look back at each trimester is impossible because it insists on referring to them as “the woods,” “the mountain,” and “the peak.” How about throwing in what it’s actually called, like “First trimester: the woods,” “Second trimester: the mountain,” and “Third trimester: the peak” as that would contain a shred of helpful, meaningful verbiage, based on what we call these phases in real life? The writing style results in unhelpful fluff many times, too, most easily seen in the first couple lines or lead-in offered up as “help” in a given week. Literally, week 17 starts out “You’re treading in unmapped areas, but your resourceful noggin’ will not be bewildered in this wilderness.” …What exactly am I supposed to glean from this? That’s not all it says for the week, but how am I supposed to feel encouraged from the lead-in when I can’t even comprehend what I’m reading? I think there could be a greater amount of helpful details, too. It’s not sparse, but it’s not really comprehensive either (not that this is ever pretending to be a medical journal, as this app is more of a Swiss Army knife than an encyclopedia – I just think the knife should cut a bit deeper. Look at me using man analogies, huh?) All in all, there’s a lot of great features and it helps me think about what’s important at each week of the journey, but it misses the mark as a serious reference for dads-to-be.

Super helpful, one very annoying bug. This app has been wonderful so far, the info is that it’s giving in the timely manner is beyond useful. My only complaint, is that this app does not need audio, yet, no matter what I’m listening to, it stops audio… I really want them to fix this bug

App issues. Great app overall. Very informative and great for new dads to be. My 3 star rating is due to the system issue regarding the Logg it in feature. Due to work I was unable to log any new information / update for a week. Once I tried logging something in, I noticed that all the pictures I previously uploaded where unable to be seen. I was really looking forward to buying the actual album after my journey but I don’t think I will since I won’t know weather the failed pictures will be printed on the album or not. If issue can be fixed I’d definitely purchase the album. I’d appreciate a resolution. Thank you.
