   Impossible to unsubscribe. Do not join this program ! While it was useful for a few months a few years ago, it has been impossible to get rid of them. First I couldn’t cancel my paid membership until my renewal date so I paid for services I wasn’t using. And they continue to send spam texts selling medication I neither want nor need. No matter how I block and report them the sales spam continues to arrive. I can only conclude that this is a fraudulent grift and if you actually need help controlling your drinking you are better off going elsewhere for support.

   Leave me alone!. I quit the account, deleted the app, begged them to lose my details and I still receive daily harassment from Sunnyside. Sure, you can quit alcohol, but apparently, there is no way to quit this app or their daily SMS.

   In app tour is broken. Your in app tour is broken, I literally can’t use the app. It breaks and shuts down the app after the 4th step. Please fix!!!!

   $299 a year is insane. After the free trial, everything in the app is fully disabled and all it does is give you a prompt that says, "Tap below to reactivate your Sunnyside subscription for $299.00/year." There's a "Reactivate Now" button and you can't even access your account or the app settings! There is no option to sign up for a cheaper plan or even review your progress. This is really predatory and I would never recommend this app to someone trying to cut back. It's advertised as $99/year, yet there's actually no way to sign up for that plan and there is no monthly option. Very scammy.

   Over Charged. I cancelled my subscription for medication. When I was then charged for a refill the next month, I emailed support. They couldn’t refund the improper charge because the refill was in process? I guess I’m just out $300??

   Such a scam!. Stay away from this app, if you don’t want to be bc gather a $100 for a free trial. I signed up for the 2-week free trial, but was charged for a whole year immediately. Contacting the support was useless, they just sent generic replies refusing to issue a refund. The App Store support was also not helpful, so if you have a $100 to spare for a useless app, you should download it. Otherwise, stay away from these scammers.

    Asks for a required phone number before you can even sign up. I was just curious about how much I was drinking. I wanted to track for a while and see my drinking habits. I imagined an app where I could simply input volume and percentages of alcohol content every time I had a drink and then see statistics of what my drinking habits are and reduce if I felt it was excessive. Instead I have to answer many get to know you type of questions. Then a phone number is required to proceed. I even tried to submit a fake phone number, since I have no interest in getting text messages from them. Heads up, 867-5309 is already taken. They promised not to use my data, but I’m not sure I trust that. Just wanted an alcohol calculator. This was a waste of time. The set up of the app took about 10 times as long as it took me to leave this review. And I never made it to the point where I could record a single drink. Lame.

    No Human Coaches - This is a Scam. After two trials trying to get a human response, I’m forced to believe that there are only bots on the other end of this app making their claims of having a human coach fraudulent and the $99 subscription not worth it. The first time I had a simple question about alcohol calculations. Nothing from the “coaches” but the online community is great and came to my aid. The second time I subscribed with 35% off promotion but I was charged the full price. I emailed every email I could find with no response and when I tried to reach out to a “live” coach they were clearly AI. Happy to help me if it only fit their list of key words - otherwise total silence. Please don’t believe there are humans on the other end of this and make your decision on whether to spend the money accordingly.

    Beware. Red flag-any company who requires you to pay for a year in advance and not offer monthly subscription to see if it’s for you. I did not like the overall environment of the chats and did not find it helpful. I deleted the subscription renewal but I am unable to get a refund for the year I had to pay for.

    Free Trial SCAM. I had signed up for a free trial of this app through my Apple ID. The first thing I always do is immediately cancel the free trial in Subscriptions, just in case I forget to later. Well, somehow my family member’s card was attached to my account and charged ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. I never have used that card with Apple ID, and don’t even have the card on hand. The only place it is saved is in my phone. We WILL be filing a chargeback and NEVER using this company again. I’m horrified, because now our rent is short. All because of this stupid company.

    Only Annual plan available. I wanted to give this app a shot again but it only lets me choose the anual plan which I don’t have 95$ to spend all in one go right now. Guess I’ll be tracking myself.

    Doesn’t work. Everything on the app is grayed out. It’s trying to ask me to track drinks from a month in the wrong year 11/23 (it’s 2024). None of the buttons do anything. Useless.

    SMS Tracking DOES NOT WORK. EDIT: I have now been misled and lied to by Cairo Amani, the head of customer experience, for nearly an entire month. The content of my review is correct, this is a known technical limitation, not a glitch. To be clear since the developer comment contradicts this, tracking via text DOES NOT currently update the app in real time. The tech team will not investigate anything they will just lie to you to string you along and try to save face. There is no current way to fix the issue I experienced, and while they may intend to patch or update at some point the developer response to this comment is a LIE in order to suppress honest critique. Additionally, while working with them to attempt to get answers regarding this I was charged for a full years subscription (~$100) right at the end of the month, even though I have in writing that she would “ensure” that I would not be charged for this. This money was not credited back to my account before the first of the month, which could have resulted in tremendous hardship. I was simply upset with the limitations of the app and left a review in hopes that they would fix the issue, but instead of acknowledging the limitation and fixing the issue they decided to lie, mislead me, and provide overall the worst customer experience I’ve had with any similar company. This review should be zero stars, and I would highly discourage ever since engaging in business with this company. . . . Original Review: Love the concept, and if it worked as advertised I’d be thrilled. However, the texting in the moment does not update the actual tracking in the app, and you are required to manually confirm totals every single morning. With that limitation, there are plenty of free apps (or a pen and paper) that you could use if you’re still required to manually confirm everything regardless. Absolutely NOT WORTH the monthly fee, which your only option is to pay for a year in it’s entirety up front. Shame, could have been something very special.

    Sneaky. The app is sold on a monthly subscription model. What you’re not told is that you’ll be charged a year in advance. I just spent an hour on the phone dealing with the fraud alert it triggered at Citi.

    Ended my trail. I had a free 1 year trail that ends Sept 4, 2025. Sunnyside cut me off today. I can’t even log in and see any information unless I pay. Membership cut short, no information. I’m disappointed.

    Annoying user experience. I liked the user experience of the app itself and the way it tracked drinks and only drinks and didn’t have a lot of terminology that made it sound like you were an alcoholic because you had two drinks in one night. What I really hated were the text messages asking me if I would like to join some kind of challenge inside the app or join some kind of online event or something like that. I got multiple texts a day from the app, none of which were helpful to me or useful in any way. I finally got tired of them, so I texted the word “stop,” which is a common way of unsubscribing from automated text messages. Instead of simply unsubscribing me from the text message feature and allowing me to still use the other features of the app, I received this message: “Confirming I've canceled your Sunnyside account and you'll no longer hear from us. Sorry to see you go! Is there something we could have done differently to make the experience more valuable for you? If you ever want to jump back in, you know where to find us. Simply reply START to reactivate your account.” My response then, and my review now, is this: Yes, you can give people the option to opt out of your spam text inviting them to stupid groups that they don't want to participate in instead of just canceling their accounts unilaterally. I think you can still use the tracking part of the app, but I actually liked getting text messages that would remind me to track it. I just didn’t want all the extra frequent communications about things I don’t care about.

    A Trojan Horse by the Alcohol Industry. Even though the creators of this app claim it is for people who wish to stop drinking, they censor anyone who posts medically accurate information about the dangers of alcohol. Their reason? “Because we don’t want to upset our drinkers”. If you’re looking to be coddled by operatives from the alcohol industry who want you to feel good about your binge drinking and alcohol addiction, Sunnyside is your app. Otherwise, keep looking.

    Glorified tracker, no customer service in site. I’m not a fan of apps where you don’t see the subscription under Apple Subscriptions, and after trying to reach via email (only option with them) to get a refund for the renewal I wasn’t expecting, I get no response.

    Expensive tracker that tempts you. So I downloaded this app to watch my drinking and I undownloaded today. Every week they recommend a plan for the next week and they recommend me MORE drinking… I had no drinking m-th, 5 drinks fri & sat, and then 3 drinks sun for my initial plan. I did better than expected and only drank on Saturday for a total of 7 drinks. They sent me their recommendation for the next week and recommended I drink on tues and thurs, as well as an additional added drink Friday and Sunday… So the app isn’t encouraging me to do better at all. It seems like an expensive glorified drink tracker and the texting to track messed up one time and didn’t even track my drinks (I sent 🥃🥃🥃 which should of meant three drinks but it counted it as one). Going forward I’ll just make my own plans and track them in my notes app. This app just seems like a glorified expensive tracking app. The only way I’d recommend this app is to someone who may need a person unknown to text to encourage them not to drink, but I personally never used this feature so idk how good it actually is.

    Ridiculous Amount of Notifications. This app sent me seven text message notifications in a two hour span. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Trying to adjust the amount of notifications was difficult. I will be cancelling because I shouldn’t be annoyed with an app less than 24 hours in.
