   I have NEVER been more DISAPPOINTED. Besides being the slowest trading app that I’ve ever placed trades in…They charge extra for everything that’s FREE on Robinhood & others. What made me finally leave was when I had a trade placed to buy at 8:30am & they charged me the 2.99 for an early morning trade! Customer Service said that’s our policy. THE MARKET’s OPEN at 8:30am! Not cool & they would not budge. They lost a client over $2.99… terrible customer service decision in my opinion & my entire Discord agreed.

   Worst CS & Process EVER!. I did a lot of research prior to committing and making a transfer. Once the transfer was made and statement for fund transfer inception provided, CS/TS has taken days (to request) an account statement from which funds have never yet been sent, but the statement does not yet exist. I cannot trade, and these less than competent people are holding my monies. Definitely DO NOT recommend Public!

   Too much. Be prepared to give this app all your private information (email, legal name, birthdate, legal address, etc) before you can sample the app.

   Not for serious investment. I tried Public and even signed up for annual premium because I loved the site design and it advertised being for serious traders. After using for less than a month, I’ve learned there is no support, the trades are not automatically routed through exchanges but “order flow” giving you odd pricing. You can buy crypto but good luck transferring it out, it holds pending for days. ACH transfers hold pending for days. The support tells you use a wire if you want instant transfers. I just expect that if I initiate an ACH, it’s not still in my account 24 business hours later as “pending”. IBKR, Robinhood, Schwab, Webull, all of these will often show up in ACH account same day, not public…they profit from your fund pending, your trades pending, and advertise 5.7% in bonds, but charge you fees such that you won’t profit that for a year. I’m amazed that this has so many high ratings. People clearly haven’t used a good broker before. This is like if RobinHood met Coinbase and took the worst parts of each other.

   Small investors beware. If it asks for a deposit to be able to have enough there to buy shares, it will make it less than a dollar short even though it gives you the amount to deposit. After the deposit goes through, it says you are short and says you need to deposit again, but then does a minimum deposit of $20. It does this because you’re not able to buy partial stock and therefore your $ just sits there for them. It could be a class action suit…

   Beware of this app. I deposited money it took them over five days to process it and then still they gave me zero buying power and then when I tried to withdraw my money, they wouldn’t let me and in total it’s been a total of 10 days that they have taken my money from me and I haven’t been able to do anything with it. This is a complete scam.

    Spams you with ad notifications daily. 1-3 daily ad notifications “invest in ETFs today” and “Set up daily deposits” and “Add more money to your account now” And it’s EVERY SINGLE DAY! It never stops. Even after you add money and it’s been weeks. There’s no way to stop them. I eventually had to completely disable notifications which sucks because now I can’t get the updates on my stocks anymore. I already reached out to support. They usually take about a week to respond. Thankfully the rest of the app works flawlessly.

    Horrible Experience. I’m transferring out of this nightmare episode with this company.. EASY TO GET YOUR MONEY IN.. HARD TO GET YOUR MONEY OUT.. The red flags started 14 days after becoming a customer, I was making money via selling covered calls, and none of the money after the T1 settlement was showing up. In order to communicate with them, you first have to get past their terrible AI and in order to get a human to respond to your problems they need a full trading day.. So after receiving a response from a human, I was able to see funds available for withdrawal.. So the next day it said I had over $4000 available for withdrawal, so I put in to remove $3300.. The app made it seem like everything was great, and then near the end of the trading day I get an email that says the transaction was rejected.. So I do another one for $2800 near the end of the trading day and that one goes thru.. When requesting your money they want you to explain why you need it which is very annoying.. Over the next 30 days, I kept getting rejections for withdrawing money, so to make things easier I just paid them a hefty fee for instant cash.. This is their entire ploy, they want you to pay them to get your money… Let’s talk Margin Buffer: regardless of what you see, your entire buffer will vanish and you’ll be in a margin call that you don’t know of and they will just sell your stock.. This was the final straw with these people. I had a margin buffer of over $55,000 which basically meant that if the stock declined $55000 then that would be triggered, however during the trading day, the stock declined about $25000 early and recovered to close green.. However my entire margin buffer vanished.. I didn’t notice this until I looked at the available cash to buy stock which was over $13,000, and seen it go to zero up logging back in the next trading day.. I had no plans to buy stock but during the next trading day while the stock was roaring green, They sold my shares because I was in a margin call that I didn’t know about from the previous day.. Keep in mind that the amount of money in the stock account was more than the amount borrowed significantly.. So I then started to watch the margin buffer move up and down with the portfolio value while still in the margin call.. The margin buffer should have been fixed and get triggered once the stock declined and trigger the margin call which never happened.. The UX is not good: The only valuable aspect is the rebates on the Options contracts sold and repurchased.. THATS THE CARROT that suckers investors in.. The execution of contracts is very poor and slow.. They distract you with some fancy screen with promos showing how close you are to execution and sometimes the screen gets stuck.. Other times I tried to sell a contract 14 days out and I set the price at the BID which should have executed automatically and it just sat there in the queue.. So I went over to Robinhood and executed the same exact trade and it filled immediately.. That was the straw that broke the camels back.. It gets worse:: So I go to Robinhood and initiate a portfolio transfer, I get a message from Public that they received it and everything is in order.. literally, the next morning at 5:30am I get a message from Robinhood saying that PUBLIC rejected the transfer.. And I get ZERO NOTIFICATION FROM PUBLIC.. Now keep in mind that once they confirmed that a transfer in being processed you cannot buy or sell or make any transactions on the account.. So the next trading day starts, I’m log in and I can’t begin to sell my stock because they never unfroze my ability to trade.. I spend the entire morning messaging them and only getting their useless AI and finally someone says we rejected your transfer request that normally takes between 5-7 trading days because I had a single short dated option that EXPIRED THAT DAY.. So while I can’t trade or make any moved because PUBLIC FROZE my account, the market opens and it’s a sell off.. I’m hemorrhaging money and by time a human comes along the losses are around $40,000… So I get rid of that one contract due to expire, and re submitted my transfer request to Robinhood.. I hope this is the end of this nightmare.. DO NOT START A RELATIONSHIP WITH THESE PEOPLE…

    SCAM. This app is a SCAM. No problem putting money in but it’s not allowing to take it out. And on top of keeping your money, they TAKE MORE MONEY out of your account when you’re inactive. I tried so many times to get MY money back and this app does not allow me to get it back!!! Edit: when you are able to get a hold of someone WHICH HAD TO HAPPEN ON REDDIT FOR ANY TYPE OF HELP they’re extremely rude and condescending and speak rudely on social media to you!

    Scam alert. When I first opened my account with Public I liked the platform. It was user friendly with the tools. They continually accepted my contributions without any hassles. I am having financial troubles since retiring on social security only. Now I am trying to withdraw funds to help pay my mortgage, car note and etc. Now they have an issue! They are giving me the run around with withdrawing MY money! I suggest no one use this company! They are scammers! They dont have customer service number to call. That should have been my first sign of scammers. They only correspond thru email and live chat. Emailing them is slow. Ill send an email but wont get a response until the next day. The live chat is a joke because no one ever joins the chat! Please DO NOT use this company! DO NOT deposit any of your money into this scamming company! Now I am being made to spend money I do not have on a lawyer! PUBLIC do the right thing!

    No support. My account was transferred from Stockpile. I tried to chat with support to find out how my account had a negative 1 cent balance from this. All I got was the fake AI support that said it was transferring me to an agent. That was 2 days ago and now they have sold some of my holdings for this penny. I would suggest investing somewhere else.

    Force sold my assets. I was with Alto IRA who sold their platform to Public. One of my positions was an asset they don’t support, so they forced sold it on me right as it was starting to take off Naturally a week later it’s up over 60% and I’m out about 15 grand. Thanks guys!

    Terrible customer service. This company is a Scam!!!!! I had a small account for years with another company. That company was taken over by public. I set up a new account with public but i can not get back in because they never send the verification codes. There are absolutely no physical human beings working there so if you have a problem, you are just out of luck. Please do not use this platform.

    Scaming stockpile customers. My account was recently migrated from stockpile. Before i could even make a purchase they are trying to charge me 207$ saying it was on my account from stockpile and moved over with it. Stock pile does not allow u to buy anything without having the funds to do so. There is no options trading or anything high risk on stock pile. They also lied and said they do not have access to my stockpile transactions when every single transaction this year shows up in my public inbox. Company is trying to scam new customers out of hundreds of dollars
