   Locked content. Although I linked the app to my tv provider which includes HGTV, I am unable to watch locked content. I receive error message indicating that my provider does not have the channel, which I watch constantly on my tv.

   Horrible :-(. I downloaded this app to my Samsung TV. It's horrible! Here's why... - In watching an HGTV program, as well as in the myriad of commercials, the sound/voices do not synch up with the mouths moving! Like watching a poorly dubbed Japanese movie or show. Uninstalling and reinstalling/restarting TV and app does NOT fix the problem. The voices speak before the mouths move even on the ads. - Can't get back to "Home" screen. Whatever HGTV show I watched last, is what appears on screen the next time I use the app. I see nothing to click on the screen or on my remote to get back to main home screen to choose a different show. Again, uninstalling/reinstalling and restarting TV and app does not resolve the problem. NOTE::: Because I can’t get back to Home Screen to choose a different show, I do not know if the problem with the audio not matching up to the mouths is a problem with ALL shows and ads, or just the episodes of shows I’ve been watching (entire Season 1 and Season 2 of “My Lottery Dream Home” - Lots and lots of commercials!! At least 18 commercials for only a 30 minute show, which of course cannot be fast-forwarded/skipped in an app. Going to delete this app and hope that down the road, it is updated to work correctly.

   Fails to login w/TV Provider DirecTV. This is the second app tied to MAX that I am having issues w/ trying to connect to using DirecTV. It fails to login using DirecTV credentials. Contacted DirecTV & it’s not on the end it’s on the apps end. Not a happy experience w/this app or any app connected to the same company & I do not recommend this app until these issue is resolved

   Way to many commercials. Log in with tv provider, a 45 minute show has had 45 minutes of commercials. I don’t have this much time to watch one show. GET REAL

   Not recognizing subscription. The apps (Discovery channels) won’t recognize Spectrum subscription. Keeps saying channel not available with subscription when it is.

   Poor quality app. Just watch YouTube. The app lags tremendously. It makes the experience of using the app cumbersome. Also, the ads are quite long compared to other streaming services, where 5 to 30 seconds is the max and there’s an option to skip. I love home improvement shows but end up going to other platforms that are much more streamlined in order to have a better and less annoying experience.

   Affiliate Partner not found - Xfinity. I’m not sure what’s wrong with your App but after an update I can’t link Xfinity as the TV provider in your App to open up everything. Only getting the error message Affiliate Partner not found. The same issues happens on Discovery Go too. No issues on the HGTV GO website at all so def an app issue.

    Does not work with chrome cast. Would have really liked to watch my shows but won’t connect to my tv via Google chrome cast.

    The ads are driving me crazy!. The ads have gotten so bad! Six minutes of a show followed by 3 minutes of repetitive ads. Literally back to back. And the same three ads every 6 minutes! Please stop this madness!!!

    Doesn’t work with cable package. The app after logging in says their network isn’t included in my cable package. But I can watch HDTV on my cable and the episodes the HGTV app says aren’t included in my cable package can be downloaded from my cable company. I contacted their support and they emailed me several days later saying they need more information without saying what information they need. This is just a scam to get people to pay twice for the network.

    Too many apps for same service. So now there is MAX, Discovery +, HGTV Go, Food Go, etc. I have to search three apps to find where I can watch a show the next day???? LAME. Not only that, I have to pay two subscription fees because of the varience in shows residence yt others are on all theee platforms. to top it all off, I need to sign in to the Free on every week because why??? shot app service getting 1 star because I cannot leave zero

    Not working. I have directv. As of 4 days ago this app and several other go apps have stopped working. Says this video is from a network not included in tv package. But it is. If I watch on my tv without using a go app it is fine. But sometimes I like to watch on my iPad if I’m not home. What’s the deal?

    Not in your subscription. I can’t watch locked shows due to: programming in not in your subscription… my almost 300 dollar a month cable bill says different. I can watch them at home but not on the app??!!! I won’t even let me choose a nickname to post this review!

    App does not work on iPad nor Roku. I have no clue what’s going on but I have deleted the app so many times and reinstall it just for hgtv not to work. This has been going on for months and it’s still not fixed.

    HGTV doesn’t like cord cutters. Have discovery plus could watch all HGTV shows now that they have gone to MAX and HGTV go can’t watch new shows unless you have a provider. Cans watch vacation house rules, vacations renovation. Now can’t watch new Good Bones. So all I can say so long HGTV. It’s been fun watch you. Can you say DELETE. HGTV app and stop Discovery plus. Save myself more money.

    I cannot tell you how poorly written this app is. If Netflix, or any of the other premium channels gave their customers something like this, they would flee. There are so many bugs in this app, it is a nightmare! I cannot tell you how often I have watched a program only to arrive at the very finish, and find out that the last five minutes were either chopped off, or there were problems in casting. Absolutely awful.

    Streaming Issue. What an awful app. I spent 30 minutes trying to cast it via Chromecast to no avail. It should be an obvious easy functionality - clearly not for this app.

    Too many errors. While watching one episode, each time an ad would come on the app freezes and I receive an error message. I had to close the app and open again to continue watching. Not worth all the hassle!

    Won’t connect to TV. After using this app for several years, it won’t connect to my TV. Only app that won’t. It wasn’t the greatest to begin with but now it’s worthless.

    Terrible App UX. This app has an awful user interaction when it comes to watching content. The auto “play next episode” always starts too early so you end up missing the last minute or so of the show. If you accidentally exit out of the show in an effort to not auto play next, you can’t jump back into the episode where you were. I scenically exited out and when I tried to go back in the episode restarted. I had to watch an ad to even get back into the show, and then had the X32 fast forward to the last 2 minutes of episode, but I miscalculated, and stopped a few minutes too early, but too late at that point, I had fast forwarded through a commercial break (which I already saw) so I had to set through the 2 minute ad break AGAIN. Then after that I fast forwarded to as close as I could get to where I left of, BUT WAIT, I fast forwarded throught ad break! So, I had to watch 2 more minutes of tv same ads. So, unlike every other streaming app on the planet, THIS one penalizes viewers with 6 minutes of repeat ads if you accidentally push the wrong button and exit out. It’s absolutely wild that I’m 2023 an HUGE company like HGTV and their parent company would allow an app with functionality circa 2009 to still exist. I recommended they revamp this app and fire any and all development associates that have worked on it thus far. A bunch of HACKS.

    Locked out. I have a paid provider—but I often had to go sign in again to watch HGTV. This one is much worse. There’s no place to put in your code or password. I can watch nothing—because it’s all locked. This is a total waste of subscription

    Great content, terrible ad quantity. Swapped to just watching this as a channel through another streaming service. The amount of ads makes this really unwatchable. I am specifically not watching cnn’s morning show for being advertised every 5 minutes while trying to watch HGTV go… some ad breaks are longer then the time watching the actual content. I’ll gladly cough up the 7 bucks a month to just watch this stuff without ads.

    Apple TV app is awful. The HG TV app on Apple TV is quite simply the worst app out there. Nearly every day it forgets that I’m logged in with DirectTV, locking me out of every show. I get an error message when I try to log in again. The only workaround is to delete the app entirely then reinstall. This problem has existed since I started using the app. It is truly shocking it hasn’t been fixed. UPDATE: as the developer response suggested, I contacted support about this issue. The experience was laughable. It took four emails back-and-forth before they could comprehend that I was using the Apple TV app and not their website, even though I stated this clearly from the beginning and in all subsequent replies. Finally they could not solve the issue at all, referring me to some mysterious upper level support team who I never heard from. The issue persists. Negative stars!

    Hated it. 3 mins commercials - twice?. I pay for cable already and was trying to review a program i just saw on cable, by using the app. Easy setup. But when i selected my show, it made me watch 3 minutes of commercials, … but the WORST was when i fast forwarded a few seconds and it made me watch 3 minutes if commercials AGAIN. Deleted app, 1 star review. Don't bother.
