   Do Not Download - Money Hungry Developers. I have been a loyal customer since the app launched. It was my favorite and the best for future radar watches. It helped with Tornado tracking in my area and having the ability to warn my local family. This App has increased its fees from yearly to monthly to weekly at ridiculous levels, especially in a time where everything else is ridiculously expensive… $30 a year, $12 a month, $1.99 a week adds up quick I have deleted the app and moved on You think they would Grandfather the loyal customers in that helped make what the app good like it once was with the small team of determined developers that focused on the customer satisfaction and amazing weather information it provided. Instead, the new owners are more interested in ‘pleasing and lining the stock holders pockets’ first and bending everyone over a log while stroking a dry corn cob right up where the sun don’t shine This app is a blundering joke and I hope all others follow along to the point it has to shut down.

   Location changed. I did not change my location but the app now sends weather for Lamont, FL instead of Lamar, TX. Useless. I can’t find a way to fix it.

   Worse than a GARBAGE APP…. After 20+ YEARS of using this app, ROTTING GARBAGE IS MORE ACCURATE & RELIABLE NOW. I relied on this app for decades. This app NO LONGER helps save lives - PERIOD!! I’ve been SAR, a Volunteer First Responder, Volunteer K9 Searcher, AWS w/Air Force in college & still a Storm Chaser to name just a few professions that require meteorological knowledge.) Greedy buyers/“investors” did what they do best: buy what they know NOTHING about, gut it, significantly increase price & FALSIFY THEIR INFO (WILDLY FALSIFYING STORM SHIELD APP!!! WOW!) with INFO FROM YEARS AGO to impress the unaware. —> SCUM IN DRAIN PIPES HAS BETTER QUALITY & ACCURACY THAN STORM SHIELD NOW! <— —> PRICE GAUGING as well for THIS NOW GARBAGE storm shieldLESS APP. <— The list of what has not been destroyed in this app is so long there is only one thing to list that’s not: graphics have slightly improved. **** CANCELED MY SUBSCRIPTION, and I paid for the best on this app for myself and my team & volunteers, & ALL of MY CLIENTS HAVE CANCELLED AS WELL. PS: WHO IN THE HECK MAKES PIN-DROPS THE SAME COLOR AS THE WEATHER RADARS SO YOU CANNOT FIND A SPECIFIC LOCATION DURING SEVERE WEATHER??!! Oh yeah, the INCOMPETENT “INVESTORS” who bought out THIS NOW GARBAGE APP. (IE: Red pin drops with red severe rain fall radar OVER the red pinned location (and blue pins during blue winter weather alerts) for you incompetent “investors” - just a red or blue blob.)

   New developer firm is greedy. I first downloaded this app several years ago when it’s original owners and developers had it. Living in Iowa, severe weather is a thing and promptness, accuracy and reliability are THE key attributes for a severe weather alerting app to demonstrate. Storm Shield ticked all three boxes for years both in Iowa and for the brief time I lived in another state. Like some of the reviews suggest, I was impressed by the fact that the app would push an alert before other outlets or outdoor warning sirens. Didn’t matter if the alert was related to convective weather, winter weather, high winds or fog…Storm Shield was always ahead of the game-and at a very reasonable price. $.99/mo for everything. Granted one doesn’t have to purchase any upgrades in order to get the key functionality which is the alerting. What I am floored by is how the current developer can justify such an up charge to $11.49+? What is the true value proposition that warrants increasing price from $.99, to $5 or 6, to what it is today?? Not only is this monthly cost not practical, I have noticed that the reliability and timeliness of the app to alert has declined. Sometimes it is delayed significantly but many times it doesn’t even alert when it should. This decline while the cost increases leads me to only one conclusion: the development and ownership folks care more about profit than the consumer experience.

   Can't Restore Subscription. A family member has a subscription for the app and even though family sharing is enabled on both their devices and mine, Storm Shield errors out and doesn't allow me to restore the subscription.

    Forecast sucks. I’ve used this app for many many years but now the forecasting is terrible. It says the high will be 65 degrees but then the hourly says it will only get up to 37 degrees. I only use it for the radar now.

    Greedy developers. I wasn’t happy about the price increase to $6.49 , but now they want to charge $11.49 a month. Are they crazy or just plain out greedy and hoping enough people don’t pay attention to subscription increases. Good bye and good riddance storm shield.

    Confusing. For years this was a great app, but lately I’ve been finding it confusing. Today’s daily “daily view” showed thunderstorms but the hourly details showed only showed a very low chance of rain. Tomorrow’s daily view is cloudy but the hourly details shows a very high chance of rain. If the daily view is all I have time to look at I’m going to be disappointed by your lack accuracy often.

    A $5 PRICE INCREASE?!!!. While I understand the occasional need to raise prices, a $5 per month increase is huge for what this app provides. Are we getting any other benefits included in the price jump? I love this app, but not enough to pay almost $12 a month for it.

    Used to be a great app. Until about a year ago and a tornado came within a handful of miles of us and didn’t alert us. They keep hiking the price astronomically (used to be $2) and I keep getting alert notifications and then seeing nothing in the alerts tab. I check my location settings and they’re accurate. So, I either don’t get alerts or I get the alarm but no written alert to explain it. Shopping for a better app now, especially since they’re hiked the cost yet again.

    Bait and switch. They get you to download it acting like it’s free and immediately lire you into $1.99 per week. Don’t bother… there’s alternatives that don’t play these games.

    Disappointing. I liked when the app was free, I reset my phone and when I launch the app it prompts to try for a week free OR pick a plan!!!! Ridiculous all these apps baiting you into downloading only to cost money. I can get the weather elsewhere.

    Rip-Off. Wants $1.99 a week for lightning alerts when other apps GIVE lightning alerts away for FREE. Also FREE Lightning Apps are available!! How about STOP being so mercenary and get money the Old-Fashion way - producing a quality app, and keeping it advanced and updated thus making it popularly reviewed by Reviews and word-of-mouth and selling more of the app… FORGET about silly, subscriptions and IAP’s (especially those that are free elsewhere). Only an imbecile buys into subscriptions, and toothless idiots into IAP’s anymore!

    App not working correctly. My storm shield tries to load closings but it never loads anything just keeps try. It also does not give any forecasts. It is NOT working correctly

    Was mediocre but got worse. I originally got this app because of the degree to which it would let you customize the alerts. However, that was iffy and when I would write to the support team, if I got an answer at all, it would be something vague about an alert type not being supported by the backend. (Take it out of the app, maybe?) Unfortunately, the app developers haven’t kept up with the times. Despite being a weather alerts app, they never added critical notification support. (Thanks) Additionally, the team hasn’t kept up with the changes in weather event codes, or changes to NOAA’s alerting API. This is why you get random alerts that don’t appear when you click on them, or for alert types you’ve disabled. It also mutes alert types it doesn’t know about, which is increasingly common due to the lack of updates. There are better options out there.

    Downgrade. This app used to have the live weather forecast and now does not. This app now reflects vague information on the daily description that is useless.

    Not great. I’ve used this app for many years. When a push notification comes through with a weather alert, it can take up to 30 minutes to see the alert. When you tap on the notification and it takes you to the app it will say 0 alerts. This could affect someone’s safety. It’s not a reliable app anymore ever since they started up charging for basic information.

    Don’t buy. I bought this app when it first came out. I’ve used it for years. Now I get notifications that an alert has been issued. When I open the app, there is nothing to read. They now want me to pay every week to read the alerts and other information for something I bought already. Trying to money grab off all they’re previous customers? Shameful!!!!!

    Weather Alerts. I get a notification on my phone for a warning or watch and when I open the app, it doesn’t show anything for my location. I have to log into another weather app to get details of what alert should be showing up in Storm Shield. It’s unfortunate this app is not reliable anymore

    No local tv streaming. Had a tornado siren go off outside the other night. No alarm from the app! Went to stream my local channel on the app….the feature is gone???!!! Truly why I have this app!! What is going on? Went to contact the developer through the app and that feature says the page is gone! No warnings, no local tv streaming, no support!? I’ll give this app a week to fix itself and then I’m moving on. I’ve had this app for years…sad about it
