6 month update. I’m writing a new review. 3 stars down to 1, because my issue wasn’t fixed. I’m annoyed that this app will shut off a minute into me opening the app. I’m gonna look into a new sound app that WONT randomly stop playing sounds.

Very disappointed. I have used the app since January 2020 for my child and it was wonderful. The free sounds worked really well and I understood I could upgrade if wanting the premium sounds. Now I cannot access any sounds without paying. Will be deleting the app due to this, as this was marketed as free and had been for a year and a half. So disappointed you would do this. No longer free sounds. There was just one sound, white noise, that I was able to use, without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money for just a noise, and now they’ve apparently made it so the entire app needs to be paid in order to listen to anything. Not worth it!!

No more free sounds.. There used to be some free sounds and I really enjoyed this app. Now since the update none of the sounds are free you have to pay a monthly subscription.

Don’t download!!. After using this app for almost 2 YEARS, it wants to charge money. I’m so upset as I’ve used this app for ONE sound for the baby. I refuse to spend $30 a year for that! NOT happy!!

Very misleading. When I downloaded this app, I was under the impression that a select few sounds were free, and then there were quite a few other sounds on the paid subscription. When clicking on those premium sounds, it even said that I would need to upgrade in order to access them. This was fine with me, since I was happy with the sounds available. At no point did it ever tell me that this “free” selection was a trial period, until I went to use one of the sounds and received the notice that I would need to purchase the full subscription in order to access any of the sounds. This was incredibly misleading! If it was a trial, then all of the sounds should have been accessible from the very beginning, and it should have had a disclaimer notifying users about the fact that they are on a trial as well as how much more time is left on the trial period. I might have been interested in purchasing the app outright, had I known it was just a trial. But due to the poor marketing and deceptive tactics, I’ll invest in one of the other sound apps in the App Store.

Aggressive in-app purchase. I’m trying to get an app to help my baby sleep, and the questionnaire this app uses to get info on my baby leads directly to an in app purchase which appears to be compulsory. There’s a barely visible cross in the upper right corner to close it. I’m sleep deprived. This is an evil way to grab money. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Don’t subscribe for the Somnologist. I’ve been waiting 5 days for a response from the Somnologist meanwhile they say they will be back in 2 hours. Also tried to contact some sort of customer service but nothing is listed and the email provided in their privacy or terms agreement is not a valid domain. They need to update this info. Or perhaps they used a fake email just to make this app look legit.

Worst baby app ever!. Do not waste your money!! Trust me! I never write reviews but I had to On this. You will pay for like 6 selection sounds that HAVE ADS unless you upgrade even after you already paid for app. It’s garbage. Short Timed music. Lots of ads. Poor quality. Save your money!

Salty. I did not intend to purchase this $120 app but apparently if you accidentally double click the side button on the iPhone, it subscribes for a year. No refund it says. And you have to pay just to chat with someone from their costumer service.

Can’t get past entering child’s DOB. I would love to be able to use the app however I cannot even get past the initial screen asking for gender and date of birth of child. It does not register the gender and you cannot hit continue to move on in the app. What a great first impression.

Beware!!!. I’ve tried everything possible to cancel this app during the free 7 day trial, I’ve called Apple-they couldn’t find a way to cancel, I’ve gone to Apple store-they didn’t know how to do it, I’ve emailed and messaged the app developer and they sent me instructions to cancel but there’s NO way to cancel this!!!! I’ve called my bank and they said they’ll dispute it. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Disappointed in the change in price with no warning. We’ve used this app since August 2020. In that time, we’ve always been able to access certain sounds (shush, womb noise) for free (and they have helped our baby sleep many times). When we upgraded the app this afternoon, there was no warning that there would be a shift so that all sounds would now require a paid subscription. We scrambled to find a different app for our baby tonight just to try to get her to sleep. I’m really disappointed. There should have been plenty of warning via pop ups on the app, etc to let us know that this was changing. I may have paid before, but I won’t now.

Shuts off when being used. I love this app and have used it since my little one was a newborn. But recently I’ve noticed that it’ll randomly stop playing. It’s very inconvenient, especially when it’s bedtime and my 12 month old is comforted with the sounds. But when it shuts off all of a sudden, it makes her sit up. And it’s not the fade out and in thing, that’s fine. But it literally will just shut off.

Took away free sounds. I’m not one of those people to leave a review, it’s just very upsetting to love an app and then one day you get on and you suddenly have to pay for it. I think the free sounds should come back.

Nice sounds, but no longer has a free portion. I downloaded the app probably about a year ago and have used it in rotation with a couple other similar apps. I liked it fine, but now in order to use any of the sounds you have to pay for their subscription. I thought it was a glitch at first, but after trying over several days, even reinstalling it, no change. I guess they reconsidered the free portion. The app description even still says, “Enjoy our wide text library, variety of sounds, and fade-out timer absolutely free.” And then goes on to say if you want even more sounds, etc subscribe to their service. So developers might want to update that if this will be permanent.
