   10 years and now it’s unusable. Been using this app for what must be 10 years now. A few years ago there was an update that made it drain iPad battery. That was bad enough. Now the latest iOS update plus latest version of the app makes it shut off after 1 min of the screen being off. I’ve adjusted every setting I can find, but no luck. Still works on my phone, but I can’t sacrifice my phone battery to being plugged in all night like I did the iPad. This sucks. I don’t want to find a new app.

   Not worth it. If you can’t start it with a timer, what good is it?

   Sound shuts off with screen on iPad/phone.. Unless you leave the screen on, which lights up the whole room, your sound will shut off one minute after shutting off the screen. There are no settings to fix this and when I sent a request for help, it was ignored. Useless if it just shuts off.

   A ripoff. This app used to come with free downloadable sounds. Now the want to nickel and dime you or get you to subscribe. Just another money grubbing company.

   No Advantage vs Free White Noise App. White Noise Pro If there is a difference between the Lite and Pro apps. I can’t find it. Save your money until there are additional features. My doctor has prescribed a med with interrupted sleep as a side effect. I downloaded White Noise to help “lullaby” me back to sleep in the middle of the night. It plays through my Bluetooth enabled hearing aids. It helps some, certainly better than silence. White noise offers a considerable selection of satisfactory sounds and the option of creating a playlist to vary them. I found it worth encouraging the developer with a paid upgrade of less than a dollar. It’s worth that. The app does have it’s issues: The option menus are not very intuitive, and they are confusing There are a few “tips” but no manual or help function The upgrade wipes all the playlist, mix creations, and manually recorded sounds. It leaves the old Lite app in place with a different colored icon. It’s just odd and awkward. I don’t resent spending the dollar, but I can’t see that it buys anything really The volume of the sounds vary a lot perceptually from one another. It’s just about impossible to create a playlist that does not have jarring volume changes. The app really needs the ability to adjust the volume of playlist entries individually. There is a shuffle function that reorders the playlist but no capacity for creating a specific desired order by moving items up or down manually.

   Was one of my favorite apps but not anymore.. I have used this app for along time. I have paid for the App and recently found that sounds I already have downloaded will not backup to ITunes. I am requested to purchase the sound again in iTunes. On top of that there are continual messages coming up on the App that the App isn’t appropriate for iPad. This App has turned into a scam.

   Alert sound in Light Rain Pouring. Every sixty seconds, the “Light Rain Pouring” sound includes some sort of alert sound / bell. How does this not get noticed in a ten year old app whose sole job is to play soothing sounds?

    Worthless, wish I could give it zero stars. I wanted was an app that would generate White Noise continuously until I told it to stop. This program is too complicated to do that or to even handle it. I wasted my money and now I’m looking elsewhere.

    Latest version munching CPU, developer unresponsive. So, just to make it clear, I love the App, but version 7.3 is misbehaving, chewing through Battery power all day, like it’s playing silently all the time. The App has always had its quirks, it changes brightness and sound settings for the entire phone rather than just itself, which would be ok if it restored them when it was in the background, and it doesn’t. The developer has been unresponsive for months, not a good sign. I am leaving this review in sheer desperation, in hopes that it will spur change. Sigh.

    Alarm has serious bugs. The alarm regularly goes off on days when I have disabled it. Today the White Noise Alarm (which makes a regular alarm-clock noise) went off even though I have never set that kind of alarm...and the app was completely off, not even running in the background! I can be sure that this is a bug in the app and not user error, because I've become extremely careful about settng and disabling the alarm ever since the problem started. This ruins days when I need to catch up on sleep --please fix!

    Serious oxymoron app. The Dev’s have obviously had people write the reviews skewing the reality of this app. I purchased this app for my apple TV for the touted profound relaxing effect it was to have…Serene and visually stimulating… Yes, the audio effects are plentiful and nice…BUT! The images do not go full screen and it is mindlessly cluttered with the other image options to both the left and right of your screen. So let’s be tranquil and have cluttered chaotic visual stimulation which cancels each other out as a psychological benefit. If the Dev’s modify this app for the images to utilize full screen when choosing an ambient sound to couple it with - then my review will change.

    The update was CRUEL. Who came up with the great idea to delete a bunch of the sounds that we know and love? I fell asleep to the same beautiful, perfect combination of lovely sounds that took a while to get just right. I spent YEARS falling asleep to it, it was so relaxing. Now I am back to the drawing board thanks to your terrible update, and can not for the life of me find a good mix that doesn't drive me insane. Bring back the old, pleasant sounds, or don't, I don't care because I'm switching to a new app that doesn't play sick jokes on its users. Bye!

    Too short. The sound repeats are much too short. It is very annoying to hear the exact spot where they repeat each time. Why can' t they make the repeats three or four times longer, at the very least?

    Non-moving pictures. If you want a little movement in the pictures. This is not for you. One still picture per sound. I was looking for a replacement for YouTube ambiance videos. This is not it. The timer is a nice feature though.

    Forces ads. This app forces you to download White Noise Market in order to take advantage of the online sound options, which forces an amazing amount of ads on users of this app. It’s unfortunate when when you pay money for a premium app.

    Very Disappointed with September 2015 Update. As others have said, the update -- which ostensibly is intended to IMPROVE the app -- instead just wholly removes or changes choices available in previous versions that were popular and beloved. It's too late for my iPad, but I'll make the conscious choice NOT to update to this crappy version on my iPhone for as long as I can.

    Not so good. Trust me you don't want this app if you use it as an alarm clock. It has not worked. And don't expect any support in solving the problem if it can be solved. I have emailed support three times with no response. I can not recommend this company to you.

    Broken - wait for new update before you buy or use. Own the paid version for several years now and was using every night for sound and alarm. Something in the new version broke the app so snooze and alarm does not work properly. Overslept and missed an important meeting because of it. Wait to download and especially buy until a new update has been posted.

    Not Impressed. Good presentation and large variety of sounds, but unfortunately none of them are any good. All that I sampled ran on painfully obvious loops that ran for no more than 10-15 seconds max. Take the wind sound for example, it goes, "WHOOOooooosh.... (pause) WHOOOooooosh... (pause)" over and over. The human ear is good at picking up patterns, and this becomes annoying very quickly. We need a random element to the sounds, like in real life. I don't see why the developers, at the very least, can't make the loop 2 minutes or more. I'm not sure who's writing all the positive reviews here (Dr. Oz and friends?) but for $2.99 you should really expect more than this.
