People praise Dark Noise for a pleasant, natural sound set, a neat clean interface and easy mixing, and for some it saved their sleep during tinnitus and insomnia after a sound machine broke. It breaks in two places: business and repair. People are angry that on launch they're immediately trapped in a paid-plan screen and can't close the app without force-quitting, and that restore purchase doesn't work so they're dragged back into subscribing. Technically one complaint repeats: an audible jump in the brown noise loop.

Brown noise has audible “jump” when it loops. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s very subtle but disruptive. Only brown is affected and that’s the one I downloaded the app for. Very disappointed.The app requires a subscription upon launch.
