From a picture to a shopping list
Interior selection that leads on to real products. Every item comes with similar options, a current price and a link to a store, so you can put your own shopping list together.
An interior someone likes becomes more useful when a real purchase can be assembled from it. A similar chair may turn out to be a different size, or to be sold in another country. Resemblance in a picture is not enough on its own.
You can try the app for free and the generation is actually pretty good and accurate, you also have a lot of features to try for free and even one that tells you where to buy the suggested furniture.
How this could work
Store a link to an available product with each item, along with the dimensions and a price with the date it was checked. Assemble one combined selection and offer substitutes within the person’s constraints. When something is swapped, keep the reason for the choice: a maximum width, say, or delivery to a particular city.
What to test first
Carry one selection through to opening the products at the stores. Find out whether price, availability and dimensions match what was expected. A manual selection for a single room is a fine place to start; it will show what matters more to automate — finding a similar item, or checking that it is available.
