Ginger Writer works as a grammar checker and rephraser, catches errors that Grammarly misses, and offers several rephrasing options. The interface feels dated, and there is no custom dictionary or keyboard extension for iOS.

What people use it for

Non-native English speakers who need to check their English text

What reviews praise

Multiple rephrasing options make it quick to pick the best version.

What reviews complain about

Misses articles in simple sentences and does not support custom writing styles.

What users experience

2 excerpts from the breakdown. These are individual cases, not a verdict on all users.

The app can not handle simple sentences such as: "I go to store." It can not notice the missing "the" required in English. So the app seems incapable of finding articles.

I have found this app to be very useful. In case I'm too lazy to write something elegant, I can simply type in the sentences and Ginger will give me multiple options to choose from.
