An editorial reading of the saved reviews
A free GRE vocabulary deck from Magoosh with curated word lists. A review algorithm exists but has real flaws: it introduces new words before older ones are solidified, occasionally resets progress, and doesn't let you manually move a word from 'Mastered' back to 'Learning'. Content quality is solid good vocab coverage and mostly good example sentences, with some weak ones.

What people use it for
GRE preppers who need a free, ad-free academic vocabulary trainer. Good for passive review, weak for actively managing progress.
What reviews praise
Completely free with no ads, solid GRE word selection, clean and simple interface, and useful for non-GRE learners wanting to expand their vocabulary.
What reviews complain about
The algorithm adds new words before current ones are locked in, progress resets periodically, word statuses can't be edited, there's no full card list view, and Magoosh blog notifications are annoying.
What users experience
3 excerpts from the breakdown. These are individual cases, not a verdict on all users.
great vocab but keeps deleting my progress
There are some features that are missing, like for example the ability to manually change the status of a word from Mastered to Learning. I accidentally clicked mastered on a word I hadn't known, and now I can't change it and hence it wont appear in the list of words I need to study.
I am so appreciative of this app but like other reviewers, it is frustrating to use. I would love the feature of having a list of only the words I don't know…similarly, if I don't know a word once, showing it to me twenty more times precludes me from getting to other words.
