I first started using Memrise about seven years ago to learn German before visiting cousins in Germany for the first time. This app brought me up to conversational level within only a few months, and I was able to exist almost entirely in German.
I used to speak French conversationally and went many years without practicing. I've been trying to practice again, but I've found frustration with other language learning apps because they force me through lessons of things I already know before letting me get to where I need to be.
