Google Voice remains useful as a second number for call screening, but long-standing reliability issues have worsened: missed calls with no ring, failures when picking up, and Google silently reassigning numbers to other users without warning.

What reviews praise

A permanent Google account number for registrations and as a screen for incoming calls.

What reviews complain about

Calls go to voicemail without ringing on the device, and the recipient has no idea.

What users experience

1 excerpt from the breakdown. These are individual cases, not a verdict on all users.

Worked great until suddenly all my clients were unable to reach me, and I discovered they had taken my phone number away. It's now assigned to someone else and I'll have to print new business cards. Do not use Google voice.
