Writers and researchers who need a long-term, reliable knowledge base with a folder structure and no cloud subscription.

Reliable sync via WebDAV and Dropbox, unlimited folder hierarchy, and stable operation over many years.
Does not break during updates.

Some features (drawing, Fountain) are advertised but work unreliably.
Migrating from older versions of the app caused document loss for some users.

What users experience

1 excerpt from the breakdown. These are individual cases, not a verdict on all users.

TLDR; If you have been looking for a notebook app that is not a subscription with portable data and deeply integrated in the apple ecosystem system, this is it. I looked a long time at different note apps. I would not have found this if I hadn't been so particular.
