   Most Recent Update Destroyed My Seestar S30. My Seestar can't find or track objects now. I've calibrated the compass several times, set polar deviation, nothing works. Thanks for a year of fun and two months of frustration.

   Updates Continue to Break Scope. The last two updates have turned a $500 telescope into a paper weight. The update to v3 added adds to the app and made images unusable with the amount of noise introduced into the Fits files. The current update has made it impossible to track/ stack files due to tracking errors on frames. Many other users are experiencing the same errors and SeeStar keeps brushing off the errors as no big deal even though the product is effectively useless. They will not provide a way to rollback to WORKING firmware.

   Firmware updates suck. nothing like standing in the cold ready to go, only to be FORCED to do a firmware update. Why not have the option to update later??? Now you have to stand in the cold and drain battery doing a firmware update — cutting into imaging time and length of imaging time!

So I have a useless brick now. If you go into airplane mode, the app won’t crash, but it’s useless as it won’t connect to telescope.

    Can’t log in or activate device. Spinning wheel of death and then nothing besides “Network timeout” when trying to log in. Can’t connect to S50 because it stumbles on “online activation” and fails. Was really excited since I got it today for my birthday but turns out I can even use it. It took hours to have a successful “create an account” but now I can’t log into my account. My guess is a backend server failure.

    Firmware updates are terrible. The only reason I gave this one star was that if you haven’t used the telescope in a while, and you power it on your invariably with no option, but to update the firmware. It has a button that you have to tap that says “now.” There is no “later” option. I just turned it on to try to look at a fire in the valley down below and take a picture. Not a usual use for me. But I can’t because it will be put out by the fire department before the firmware updates.

    Not working not connecting. Device (S50) was working on iPhone 13 now doesn’t work. Phone updated to ios 18. Many attempts to connect but never does.

    Version 2.0 ruined this telescope!. I will admit this telescope was fantastic when I first purchased it and used the original app. After this update, it has been rendered useless. The app itself is less intuitive and powerful. I could easily find objects before, but now it can’t do something as simple as locate the moon. absolutely terrible.

    Every iteration seems buggier. I forced to write a not so great review because of how ZWO keeps pushing “must” updates which ends up bricking the Seestar scope many times . They push updates quite frequently and they seem to be making things worse than before. They are not adding anything the Seestar scope isn't getting any better ninjas no clue what they are doing and why.

    Asks for location endlessly. Since the update, the app is unusable. When trying to do stargazing mode, the app asks for my location. I tap done. It asks again. It is impossible to get past this. Fix this!!

    Major problem in ver 1.2. Cannot image or focus except in scenery mode. When press Stargazing as an example, get a message to update location. This is continuous. Can center and locate objects. But that is it.

    Killed goto function. This fw killed the goto function. No problems just prior to update. Please fix, and where is the upload log option? Seems it is gone.

    Had to switch to Android version. I have not been able to interact with my S50 using this app on my iPhone 14 Pro (iOS 17.2). It just locks up. I’ve reinstalled and reconnected countless times. My solution was to dig out an old Samsung galaxy tablet. That fixed my problem.

    Not connecting or staying connected. Using iPad 10.2 9th Generation running iOS 17.2 Installed this app 1.12.0 Will not connect or if it does it loses connection within a few seconds. ZWO, FIX IT!

    Stop taking over audio and playing video. Still takes over audio so no other apps can play music, podcasts or steam when the Seestar app is in the foreground. What a stupid thing to do.

    Instructions are outdated. Instructions are outdated and no option in advanced settings to save each frame. Therefore, sky stacking does not find any images. Even after check settings under ‘me’ and in all other settings. App updated, latest FW installed.

    Terrible. I’ve just spent over £500 for nothing! The app crashes immediately on opening. I’ve deleted and reloaded constantly. I’ve reset the telescope, I’ve done everything I can think of and nothing. There’s no factory reset and the supplier says it’s an app problem so won’t refund. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
