  1. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Free App is pointless. Literally everything is behind a paywall/subscription. With everything so locked down I don’t even know what I would get out of premium.

  2. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Harasses you constantly. Using the free version is obnoxious, the app constantly asks you to upgrade to premium. Every single time you wake your phone it shows the same pop up over half of your screen. I understand that you have a premium version, if I want it I’ll upgrade on my own. Just for this reason I’ll never upgrade.

  3. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Consistently buggy. Consistently fails to pull Apple Watch workouts. Using it for a year. Still buggy. Often fails to pull TSS even though Apple Watch clearly records it. Doesn’t matter if all apps are open simultaneously, still fails to pull workouts into app 20% or the time. Also does not matter what version on both app and/or Apple Watch, consistently fails for an entire year after numerous iterations.

  4. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Really Hard to Use. The user experience is pretty terrible without premium. The entire home page at the moment is an ad for premium. So all I see whenever I open the app is ‘Commit to your goals by unlocking premium’. The calendar is hard to use and dates often aren’t able to be selected when I tap on them, I instead have to tap a nearby date and scroll until I find the desired one. You can’t create notes or add info about a specific date in advance without premium, which even the most basic calendars support for free. The oddest part about the premium functionality is that it’s making me pay to see my own data… feels wrong to pay for it when I can open garmin connect or any other fitness tracking app and see it for free.

  5. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

No customer service. Training peaks premium member here. Been trying to get help in the app for weeks. Workouts won’t show up on my iPhone and vice-versa. Workouts won’t sink together. No replies. Cancelling premium membership.

  6. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Unoptimized, slow, nagware. This app will interrupt you to sign up for a premium account with almost every single interaction you have with it. When you first open it, when you try to add a workout to a calendar, when you open one of the unmarked premium tabs by accident… you have to wait for their animation to finish and then you have the option to click not now or close the premium window. The app is painfully slow and laggy for 2026. I’m rocking 500mb symmetrical on a modern iphone and it still takes 10-15 seconds for the app to load a workout (which is just text). The only reason i use this app now is because i have a coach which adds workouts for me and they use this for the other athletes and won’t switch. As a standalone athlete, sure, there are additional metrics that can help training (premium only) but the actual insights from those metrics can be found in ANY of your other fitness apps these days. Don’t waste your time or money, they certainly don’t value it.

  7. ★★★★slow performance and long loading times

Horribly Slow. This app must have a memory leak or something because once it’s been open for 1 or 2 minutes it’s so slow that it takes over 20 seconds to register a single tap. I have to force close and restart it 5 or 6 times just to finish writing a note about a workout for my coach.

  8. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Slow/freezing. This app has become terrible to use for strength workouts. Trying to enter weight and reps the UI gets frozen.

  9. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Garmin. It no longer syncs with Garmin devices. Seeing as this is the top of the line device on the market, seems weird the app would stop working with it and nobody would do anything about it. And don’t even try troubleshooting the problem, they have no idea what you are even talking about. Seems like a poor business decision but to each their own.

  10. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

No problems until 12/15 update. Training Peaks and Garmin are not communicating anymore.

  11. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Just not a good app. Workout uploads never work (yes I keep the app open in the foreground) they’ve recently update the UI but the UX is still trash. Just because it’s the original doesn’t mean you should keep using it. Glad to have canceled my premium subscription

  12. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Charged for services that should’ve been free. I joined a cycling coaching club…part of joining that club was getting a free TrainingPeaks premium account. Also part of the club was to do a MAP test which was part of the training peaks subscription, but I was charged $106 for the one test which should have been free. Neither the cycling club or training peaks has rectified this situation.

  13. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

It’s been a useless UX for over a decade and it’s only getting worse. Good luck finding your FTP. It’s lost somewhere in one of the settings, probably. After a ramp test, the app detects a new FTP but the next time in TPV that FTP isn’t taken into account. Support is very nice. They will explain to you where to change the one minute setting five levels down that fixes this issue. So, if you don’t mind reading tons of documentation and speaking with support so that your issue gets solved within 48h. Me, I’m giving up. After some 12 years, I’ll let my premium account lapse and switch elsewhere. Enough paying rent for these techbros.

  14. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Better options out there. Won’t pre load workouts. The metric system is definitely flawed for triathletes. I paid for the premium version and the library options for workouts are very minimal.

  15. ★★★★an update broke a familiar workflow

Used to work well, now it doesn’t. Latest update broke my connections to other cycling apps.

  16. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Pulling my hair out!!. Not worth the headache! Here are the positives. It links up with other apps like zwift. And Garmin. Here are the negatives. Just to get your threshold and heart rate zones set up, you have to watch videos, log into different websites transfer data back-and-forth. It’s a nightmare and Customer Service is awful. They don’t take phone calls at all. You deal with AI through an email. Do you know how frustrating that is? Lol. I just spent $100 for a training program. It’s been a week and I’m not even sure if I have it set up correctly. Save yourself the headache. Now I have to spend an hour trying to figure out how to cancel this plan. Lol.

  17. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

It’s gotten so much worse.. Doesn’t have all the functionality of the webpage but TrainingPeaks force redirects you to the app on mobile. And now there’s an error in the new version if you try to log into the app. Have deleted from my phone.

  18. ★★★★data, history or progress disappears

Outdated. Your instructions are very hard to stop renewal the apps are to busy making it very difficult to find anything. I have emailed multiple times only to get no response back. I can’t whole Hadley endorse the site. Whats really interesting is you make it real easy to delete the account. Poor business model.

  19. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Useless to Apple Watch. It does not connect to Apple Watch

  20. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

New App stinks. New app makes me log in again every time I use it. Switching to Garmin exclusively. Hope developers realize when there are two apps that do much the same thing once you make one inconvenient people will drop you.

  21. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Good app but imports from Apple Watch not consistent. When I run sometimes the app will ingest my workout and sometimes it does but doesn’t import it properly.. Edit September 2025 - every freaking time is doesn’t import correctly. It’s like it imports right when I finish the workout but my phone hasn’t processed it. It’s ridiculous. Engineers can’t be this stupid. Where is the integration test???

  22. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

App Not Coach Friendly. I am a coach and I am being forced to use the mobile app when programming on my iPad. The problem is, there is NO way to program on the mobile app. Let me access the web page on my IPad.

  23. ★★★★an update broke a familiar workflow

    Update removed free features. Greedy

  24. ★★★★slow performance and long loading times

hate the smiley face required entry. fire your product manager as that annoying required stuart smally “how did you feel on the ride” is the mosy zero value add feature i have ever seen in an app…ADD is is very slow to load the screen and i have a new iphone 16…👎🏻

  25. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Terrible UI, no way to not use app on phone. Losing my mind because I can’t long into the internet portal from my phone. Keeps pushing me to the app with no way to stop that. Just trying to cancel my membership. Very predatory in nature, requires desktop to cancel membership.

  26. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Hard to use. Not user friendly. Very difficult to use. Glitches. Not worth price at all.

  27. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Push notification ads. Loved this app, use it a ton for my training with my coach, but they just sent me a push notification ad for a different app. Not cool.

  28. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Can’t find heart rate drift test. Only signed up to use the app to do heart rate drift test, and now can’t find it. Maybe they discontinued it.

  29. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Auth issue. No longer able to log in, receiving error message that my login info is wrong. Using same credentials as desktops which works.

  30. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Terrible experience. I try to add shoes or bike equipment and it tells me to do this on the Website. I go to the website and it forces me back into the app. This is a terrible, negative experience and I weep for your product management abilities. This should never happen.
