TrainingPeaks: Plan Train Lift

authentic rating

A platform for serious multi-sport athletes and triathletes focused on training blocks, TSS, and coach connectivity. Feature depth is real, but the mobile app is noticeably weaker than the web version: editing workouts, managing equipment, and watching video is more convenient in a browser. Apple Watch sync is unreliable and misses about 20% of workouts.

Reviews are technically specific: Garmin, Zwift, TSS, Smart Trainer, resistance intervals, multi-year platform use.

Strengths

What users love

  • Planning a training block months ahead with visible progress. Direct in-app connection with a coach. A powerful library of saved workouts. Garmin integration is considered best-in-class by some users.
Weak spots

What users hate

  • The mobile app cannot create or edit workouts
  • You have to go to the browser. Apple Watch sync misses sessions and TSS does not carry over correctly. Constant upsell pop-ups annoy even paying subscribers. Elevation from Garmin always arrives incorrect and needs manual correction.

Who it is for

Triathletes and advanced runners working with a coach or building multi-week training plans. Not suitable for beginners or those who just want to log runs.
