Cosmic-Watch

authentic rating

Almost everyone loves it for beauty: stunning graphics, deep work on the solar system, planetary motion and the ecliptic, great for understanding time and eclipses. But many stumble on usefulness: the app can't find your location even with permission, and without that it's nearly useless, part of it is tied to a city database with the nearest city a hundred miles away. Some pay and can't see how to do anything with it on the ground.

About the rating

Reviews are very detailed both ways: raves about the graphics and grasping the ecliptic, and gripes specific about being unable to find location and the reliance on a city database. The spread with substantive downsides reads authentic.
