Rating: Stargazing

Our Galaxy

authentic rating

People love it for an unusual thing: instead of the dome overhead it shows the three-dimensional structure of the galaxy and how far away objects really are from us. Observers and astrophotographers say it changes your sense of scale and is great for star parties and teaching. The downsides are minor: navigation is clunky in places, and there's no sky-tie by coordinates, so you end up jumping between apps.

About the rating

Praisers write at length from personal experience: astrophotographers who've shot nebulae for years and explain why they want a 3D galaxy perspective alongside SkySafari. The few downsides are honest about clunky navigation, so no padding is visible.
