An editorial reading of the saved reviews

A deep tool for people serious about astronomy: scrubbing time into the past and future, transits, use at an observatory. But newcomers find it complex and cluttered, the interface is dated and cramped, and updates have repeatedly broken it so people rebought it. Many features are locked behind Plus and Pro upgrades.

What people use it for

Serious hobbyists and professionals willing to learn it, not people who just want to point their phone at the sky

What reviews praise

Time travel far into the past and future, transit calculations, use by professionals at an observatory, real-time GPS operation, low entry price

What reviews complain about

Steep learning curve for beginners, dated cramped interface, breakage after iOS updates forcing rebuys, date resets to current, AR fails when time is set manually, lots gated behind paid upgrades

So far, enjoying this. Wish the sky view would show the moon so I can be positive that my orientation and understanding of the stars is correct. Downloaded to star gaze with my son. He thought it was “supercool”
