An editorial reading of the saved reviews
A workout tracker that rewards rest and adapts recommendations to fatigue rather than pushing you to close rings. Especially valued by people with chronic conditions for whom typical apps cause stress. Key flaw: the algorithm sometimes labels light activity as 'overtraining', and steps are not counted as activity.

What people use it for
People recovering from illness or dealing with chronic fatigue who want to keep moving without streak penalties.
What reviews praise
- A 'soft streak' system that does not break if you take a rest day.
- Friendly app tone with no penalties.
- A widget showing your current load zone.
What reviews complain about
- The load algorithm often gives false 'overtraining' signals after a week of rest.
- Steps do not count as a workout without manual entry.
- No Strava sync.

I've tried multiple fitness apps but none of them really stuck. Gentler Streaks is different. It helps keep me motivated while also giving me permission to rest when I need it. I find seeing my Activity Path slowly rise up gives me concrete evidence of growth.
As a long-time endurance athlete, it's easy to get sucked into comparison. My friend did this, I'm falling behind. Oh, my run today was really slow, I need to make an excuse in my Strava workout description so people have context and don't think I'm slow.
I ADORE this app!! I have a pretty bad tendency to push myself too hard when I workout, and this app has helped me so much to always have an idea of where my body is at and if I need to back off. It helps me stay on track and lets me know when to push and when to rest.
