People value EWG as the oldest and most authoritative database on cosmetics and food safety, and they've used it for over a decade and trust its research. The reviews show the app falls down on scanning: out of 20-50 products in a store only a handful get found, and those found often carry a 2016 rating or an old formulation. After the update it got worse: an ingredient's score hides behind a tap, you can't paste an ingredient list as text, and sunscreens lost their UVA/UVB data.
