A clean, clear camera-based sky map many keep for years and love because you can point the phone and ID a bright star or planet like Jupiter and Venus. But since late 2025 the orientation is off for some people, stars show in the wrong place, and calibration doesn't help. It lacks recent objects like the James Webb telescope and new comets, and its deep-sky catalog is thinner than rivals.

I really like this app for its clear, uncluttered view of the night sky. Unfortunately, the real stars are rarely where SkyView says they are. Tonight, it showed the Big Dipper at due north.
