Pawp provides access to a veterinary specialist via chat or video around the clock, plus an emergency fund. Consults genuinely help at night when clinics are closed. The problem is the gap between the insurance promise and reality: when users actually file a claim, many get denied. Licensed specialists cannot always write prescriptions, and a referral to see a vet in person undercuts the core value proposition. The service works as a first anxiety filter but falls short as a real insurer.

- The required pharmacy with 10-day shipping does not work for acute conditions.
- The service covers cats and dogs only.
