5K Run Train to 5K is a structured C25K program with step-by-step walk/run alternation. GPS tracking is basic: distance is not recorded when the screen is locked, showing 0.02 miles instead of real 2-3 miles. Audio prompts play over music without interrupting the track, which users highlight as a key advantage. The program is strictly three days a week with no option to add 10K. Main navigation problem: the app always opens at Week 1 Day 1 and requires manual scrolling to the current week.

What people use it for
Absolute beginners with no running experience who need a simple structured program to their first 5K.
What reviews praise
Clear walk/run alternation structure for beginners, audio prompts that do not interrupt music, free access to the full course without a subscription
What reviews complain about
GPS does not work with a locked screen, distance is logged as zero, the app does not remember the current week and day and resets to the beginning each time, an ad at the end of a workout sometimes blocks the save button

Great app and I'm now completing week 3... Only downside is that the GPS location isn't brilliant, I've just completed week 3 day 2 33 minutes of exercise and covered 0.02 miles.
No only are there problems with using the pause feature, even when you just let it run it doesn't properly track distance. Several of the runs I've logged with it show 0.02 or 0.03 miles when they've really been 2 or 3 miles. It seems that unless this app is live on screen with the phone unlocked,
