iRunner Run & Jog Tracker

authentic rating

iRunner is a tracker with built-in heart rate zones that has grown more paywalled with each update. GPS takes up to 5 minutes to acquire a signal, metrics have shifted across versions (first average pace was removed, then graphs broke). Long-term users document accuracy degradation of around 0.2 km/mile. Basic tracking with voice zone alerts is intact, but almost everything else requires an extra payment.

About the rating

Reviews note specific versions and feature degradation details. One poetic review stands out but does not affect the overall picture.

Strengths

What users love

  • Voice alerts when your heart rate crosses a zone. Handles running
  • Walking
  • Cycling
  • And hiking in one interface. Simple metrics with no clutter.
Weak spots

What users hate

  • GPS does not start immediately and misses the first minutes of a run. Features purchased outright later move behind a paywall after updates. MyFitnessPal integration is broken. No lock-screen display.

Who it is for

Users with years of logged activity who value heart rate zones and basic pace metrics and can live with periodic GPS regressions.
