But the monetization model undercuts the value: features are steadily moved to more expensive tiers, and after a subscription lapses, access to your own documents is locked until you pay again.

The Joist investment invoice maker I have been using for years. It's a very nice app to use. I have recommended this other contractors to use the downfall to Joist. Is that not only do they charge a fee but they sent it to a third-party for payment payments to charge an additional fee.
I been using joist for a month and it's great. Easy to make invoices, easy for customers to sign, make payments. I enjoy using this app!
